It seems that UNI has the 4 and 5 spot locked up for the near future. However, after Bizoukis bolted for DePaul, we're a bit thin at the point. Does anyone know if we're in on any points?

Kwazdo will be our point guard for the next three yearsCoach Whisenhunt 1/18/09. "There was never any complaints about not being named the starter, all he wanted was an opportunity and he took advantage of it. Kurt is probably one of the greatest individuals you'll ever meet. Kurt worked hard on a lot of things that a lot of times older quarterbacks aren't willing to do. That's a credit to his humility and his competitive drive, and the reason that we are here today in great part is what Kurt Warner has done for us."

Kwadzo will probably be the starter of the future. There is also Stephen Jones as a capable 1 or 2. Brian Haak could also be used as a strong backup who knows the system...in addition, Drew Lundberg will redshirt next year. Look for UNI to pick up another guard this fall, in particular a point guard. Also, Jared Josten has the capability (whether Coach Jake feels it's best, is TBD) to play a little PG. My guess is that you will see Kwadzo play about 25-30 minutes per game, and see Stephen Jones and Haak pick up the other 10-15 at PG, and Stephen playing some at the '2'. UNI will really have a strong group of guards next year.
PG: Ahlegbe/Jones/Haak
SG: Josten/Reed/Jones
WG: Brown/Viet/Dunham
And my guess is that UNI goes after a PG in the 2008 class. That's not a position that you want just anybody taking a scholarship. That has to be a great talent. The Lord reigns, let the earth be glad; let the distant shores rejoice, clouds and thick darkness surround Him; righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne. Fire goes before Him, and consumes his foes on every side; His lightning lights up the world; the earth sees and trembles; the mountains melt like wax before the Lord of all the earth. The heavens proclaim His righteousness and all peoples will see His glory.

I figured Kwazdo would start and play the most, but I didn't know if Jones could play the position. That's good to know, although I wouldn't mind seeing another talented ball-handler recruited for next year.
BTW,
Do we know who the staff is looking at for Bizoukas' scholarship?TH1974: This guy was all-UNI, and wanted to show it by pretending to play a non-existant musical instrument in public.

Kwazdo will be the guy, if he isn't then we still have Jones who can handle the rock. I know Jake wants to leave Jared at the 2 spot, but if we get in a bind he has the capability to play some point for us as well (although I don't think we'll see this). We still have another scholarship left so it wouldn't surprise me if we signed a guard, maybe even from a JUCO program.
