I was surfing ESPN and came across this...

its interesting, but what i really wanted to show was the "5 you should know" on the right side. Heres what they say about grant stout!

Grant Stout, Northern Iowa: The Panthers are making waves again in the Missouri Valley and a lot of the credit goes to Stout. He scored 17 points in each of his first two Valley games, wins over Bradley and at Wichita State, while also grabbing a combined 24 rebounds in the two games. The 6-8 senior forward is the kind of rock needed for Northern Iowa to be a contender for the Valley title and an NCAA team yet again.

Its nice to see Stout play well, and also get the credit he deserves for it.

As I've said before Stout is about as consistent as they come in the game of basketball. If he can avg. 17 pts/10 rebs a game for the Panthers in the Valley then that will give them a much needed boost for Panthers to contend for a top seed in the Valley Tournament. So far, the league play of the Valley has not disappointed and I'm ready for us to give the Salukis all they can handle on Saturday.

Last night Grant became the 29th Panther to score 1,000 points in his career. Congratulations, Grant!

I criticized Stout earlier in the year for his uninspired play. Way to prove me wrong Grant!!

I thought early in the season Stout was struggling with his touch shooting due to his wrist injury and not playing for a few months. The rust has been worked off and his shot is back.

I agree, he was not quite himself in the beginning of the year but he is now showing why he finished 2nd in the Valley Player of the Year voting last year. This team is going to finish strong because the frontcourt(the heart of our team) does not have to play tons of minutes unless they are needed too. Last year they played a lot of mins, but this year we have a good bench. All of the good bench play is only going to help us later in the year.

I would have liked to have seen both McKowen and Stout get fewer minutes last night. They are both at their best when they play 28-32 minutes rather than the 34+ they did last night.

It was a good matchup for both Eglseder and Ahelegbe last night and was surprised we didn't see more of them along with Stephen Jones. But, I was most surprised that Eglseder only got 1 minute. He showed that touch he has around the basket with that rebound and putback. He and Koch are both going to have good minutes on Saturday due to the flat out BEATING that the Ugly Dawgs will put on post players...

Due to the nature of last night's game in the 2nd half, it is understandable why McKowen and Stout played a ton of minutes. Koch had an off game. He could not put a fork in the ball. Coach Jake said in the post game show that Coleman was under the weather and I thought it showed.

haha he got the rebound because he missed first and made it on the second try
"I think they're very good," Farley said of the preseason top 25 Hawkeyes. "But so are we."

I really like Koch, but he seems to have trouble in most games when it comes to grabbing the ball.

I think that's just youth and inexperience and with time he'll get better. Congrats on 1,000 Stout. He's really turned it on after a rocky start.
Oh, and let me make this perfectly clear to you people: you go to UNI, NOT IOWA. The Hawkeyes and their fans do not give a crap if you remain "true to them" or some stupid self-fulfulling bullcrap like that.-OTP

In the evansville game, when Coleman was called for a blocking foul when he fouled AIR and the fans let the ref know about it, EC was furious, and said "You gotta being F-in kidding me man! You're G-D horrible" Thats the fire i wanna see tomorow!~

Did he really say that? That's AWESOME, considering most of the time you'd get a T for that. Way to go E-Cole, and a big NMNMNMNMNM as well. Griff you'll know what I'm talking about, or what I mean by that.

I will be in attendance at the Game tomorrow (weather permitting) and I am probably going to buy an Eric Coleman Jersey (the ones they sell at the stand.) Man I can't wait for this game, I remember how good the SIU Games have been over the years, and to have it on an ESPN affiliate will make it that much better.

I wanted to make one comment about the bench play, when I attended the Bradley game last week Jordan Didn't even get off the bench, except of course for half time and during time outs. Otherwise he sat the bench the ENTIRE NIGHT, Granted it was close game but they one used Kwado, Viet, and Koch off the bench. I was kinda upset because I wanted to see Big Jordan Play. I could be wrong though. I just don't remember seeing him on the floor. If I'm wrong I'm sure I'll be corrected.

Anyway I'll see you all Tomorrow. and as the poster on the Cup says I'll be there for the "Feeding" (Love that Poster)

The Panther would clearly rip the other two to shreds, eat them for dinner (although it would be a small meal for the monstrous beast) and spit out their feathers to make a pillow!"

                              Playing with fire is good.
But having some discipline and control is important too. Channel that fire into your gameplay, and not jawing at the officials (let the coaches, and the crowd rip the officials).
