So could one confidently say that we'd probably see this completed by next basketball season or is that too rushed?

Best case scenario you'd be hoping it's ready for fall 2025. Even then, that might be ambitious.

Will certainly help with recruiting beginning with the 2025 recruits...

Reading those quotes made me wonder… is this another situation of the coach(es) knowing their need, lining up the donors, taking it to the AD who took it to Nook? See also FB team room and FB practice field. And if so, was he who should not be named a roadblock or were the donors unwilling in his presence? So many questions… but yet uber excited to see this thing happen.

I don't think it's a coincidence that somebody left and checkbooks opened up.

A podcast episode was released recently with Ben Jacobson talking about the new practice facility if you're interested in listening to it here: https://art19.com/shows/uni-panther-pep-talk/episodes/b3029ae8-f3ac-498b-8325-45832092234f?fbclid=IwAR2YusUOT4TOgl2AsRDLahrShAxT w1ZPv30uzw8dd663G1AGbJl6k0xsIoY

Not sure if I'm reading into it, but Jacobson flat out said that "a project like this doesn't happen without great leadership", I think we know why.

There are a couple things in that interview like that.

I was immediately able to remove my sunglasses due to the shade.

You for sure know that Jake would have mentioned something about David being integral in the process if he was, but clearly, that's not the case. What an exciting time to be a Panther though and we know that the athletics department is heading the right direction with this leadership we have now.

I honestly was most jacked about what Hutty was saying about Rubin. The dude sounds like a difference maker. It really sounds like he could cause some major problems running the flow offense at the top.

The way I "read into this" is the great leadership refers to the alums/donors/supporters who voluntarily have come forward to make known their interest in funding this project. It is referenced in the quotes from all three coaches whose programs will benefit from the new facility, as opposed to any of them directly referencing any individual in our athletics department.

I think you're absolutely correct as well. You would imagine there would be SOME reference to David if he had any part in this, which we know isn't true at all. You're not going to hear anyone speak outright applauding David leaving, that's not UNI.

Jake calls out the leadership from Nook and Bowlsby specifically in his comments.
