UNI is #29th in one poll, #30th in the other. The only other Valley team getting votes is SIU. It's sad to see the Valley losing out on national recognition. A few weeks agot there were about 5 teams getting votes.

Does this mean we are going to lose at SIU? The only reason I say this is because last time we were considered to be in the top 25, we lost two in a row.

You know...if the conference had another name...for instance...ACC...we'd be on Sports Center everyday and they'd be talking about the amazing parity and that all 10 teams still have winning records. It's sad that educated people (sports writers and college basketball coaches) can't figure this out and I can.

I just hope the NCAA committee can figure it out this year. There the ones that really matter.

Honestly, if I had a top 25 ballot I'm not sure I would have any team in the MVC in my top 25. I think you can make a fairly strong case for UNI and SIU, but I dont think you can say definitively that these and other teams in the Valley are in the top 25 in the country.

Now, if I had to name the top 50, I would put 5-6 MVC teams from about 30-50.

I like the optimism Griff, but let's stay under the radar a while longer, we play better with the spotlight off of us. (Flash back two weeks ago when UNI just missed out on the Top 25 and then lost two straight)

yea, but thats not cuz we were almost ranked...a ranking is just a number...kinda like age (as long as ur 18) Its what's on the inside that counts.

You can say there is a curse or what not around this team when they get all the national attention, but really, what team doesn't fold at some point under national attention? Even the 90s Dukes and UNCs lost a couple games!

We played like poop against ISU (red) and didn't deserve to win and yet, we still almost did!

The Creighton game we beat ourslves in the first half and was outnumbered 2-1 in the 2nd half. And Creighton is GOOD and we still almost beat them as well!

Rankings have nothing to do with how good a team is. The team is as good as you put out on the floor nite in and nite out.
