Two tough games this week. VALPO is always dangerous and they have some depth similar to us. They can always shoot but the inside will be where this game is won.

    Panthers 75
    VALPO 63

Northwestern State will suprise many people that will be listening to the game. They are very athletic and attack the boards hard. I think our guards win this one.

    Panthers 69
    NWST 60

    What does everyone else think?

i agree...these games will be tough being at a neutral site like Vegas....should be interesting to see how the Cats deal with the distractions, if they are allowed to see any of them

i think we'll end up taking Valpo by 15 and NW State by 11 or 12.....

My only thoughts are that I wish I could be there! It's okay though... I'm excited to celebrate the new year with two more Panther wins... and very anxious to see everybody again and get conference play started when they return to the Dome on the third. Have a safe trip to everyone who gets to make the trip... make some noise for the rest of the Panther Nation while you're down there

        The low down on Valpo:
Last year they had a top 10 recruiting class nationally. This year, they have played the big boys, and lost big. Their starting PG has been injured the last few games, and their Baby Shaq in the middle hasn't played much over the past 3 games (and there are rumblings on the Valpo board that he is injured somewhat significantly). If UNI can shoot well, they can win this game...but the inside should be where this one is won (and I think Coleman and Stout will be tough). This will also be Valpo's 3rd game in 3 days.

The low down on NW St.:
They are very athletic and predicted to win their league. They will bring quality RPI points if the Panthers can win. They lost by like 5 against LSU this year, so they can play teams tough.

Good luck Panthers! Bring home a 3-1 record in the LV Tournament back to CF.

Fire goes before Him, and consumes his foes on every side; His lightning lights up the world; the earth sees and trembles; the mountains melt like wax before the Lord of all the earth. The heavens proclaim His righteousness and all peoples will see His glory.

            Worries..

I'm not worried about playing in a high school gym setting...should be like playing in the West Gym for the Panthers. I am worried about both of these games. Both teams could give UNI problems. UNI needs both to get to 9-2. Every win is essential and I think wins in the Valley this year will be tough to get on every floor, every night. So we need to start this out 9-2.

Good luck tonight Panthers!!! Start strong, stay focused and win two ballgames and then have a safe trip back home and get ready for Illinois State Monday night!!! Remember the Redbirds took it to us in Cedar Falls last year!!!

            Go Panthers!!!

I think the Cats win both, but it will be tough. Valpo scares me to death. Despite that, though, I think UNI will stay tough. They're too well-coached not to.

              UNI 81
              Valpo 71

              UNI 83
              NWSU 69

Did the Cats end up winning 67-49? I can't get a score from anyone. I couldn't get the game on the radio, and I couldn't get online. What I heard though was that UNI had trouble early, but pulled ahead late. Nice win, I hope we can keep this up. If we do, we'll have a magical season ahead of us!

And I heard something about "three for Coleman." IS THIS TRUE???

Score was 67-49. I've posted the link to the story and the Box Score and no Coleman did not have or attempt a 3.

Maybe that was "three for Coleman" as in Coleman had three points or three rebounds. That would have been sweet, though.

Glad to see we can pull it out against NWSU. I was nervous for a bit there, but we stayed calm and finished what we started. And you just can't complain about finishing non-conference 9-2! Bring on the ValleY!

I think the "three for Coleman" was when Coleman picked up his third foul against Valpo. But 9-2!!! What a way to ring in the New Year!
