  • 2010 Football Media Day

Rightfully so, we probably took backseat to the flooding in Ames. However, we did get some coverage....

For those suggesting it in other threads, our uniforms have gotten a bit of an update. Different font on the white ones and also different striping, it doesn't come up over the shoulders anymore.

They must have gotten new purple ones as well because they are using last year's models as practice jerseys...

I have NO idea how this season could turn out.

I could see us winning another conference title, and I could see us finishing 5th.

And the jerseys have been tweaked. Looks good, IMO.

I thought so. Personally I like this number font better, and no ginormous MVFC patch on the shoulder.

Keeping the black pants for home, I presume?

I didnt see this article anywhere so this may be old news, but Montari Leanard is back on the team.

We could always use more practice players I guess...

Maybe I'm not remembering right, but I seem to recall Leanard having good speed but difficulty actually catching the football, which is funny because he made arguably the most remembered catch in UNI history. Good for him that he matured and is back on the team, though.

Was interesting to read he never left the University. Hopefully he has matured and will get some snaps his last 2 seasons. With him, Collins, and Herring we have some serious SPEED at receiver.
"I think they're very good," Farley said of the preseason top 25 Hawkeyes. "But so are we."

Agreed, could be a huge advantage.

Is Dedric going to put on some pads again?

I don't know if I like the way Farley uses the word "interesting" to describe the team and the upcoming campaign. Interesting usually stands for 1) I got no clue how we're gonna look on the field, or 2) We might suck, we might be good. Let's find out together.

Maybe I'm reading too much into the comment, but the body language and the verbiage in the first sentence tells me even Farley doesn't know what this season is going to look like.

You can't blame him with the losses on the O and D lines. The O line in particular could take a few games to gel. People here are going to need to be patient and not necessarily expect us to rush for 500 yards a game for the first few. The first part of the schedule is awfully tough, so it is what it is.

Don't forget Mo Turner either. He's a big body with good speed.
If computers ruled college basketball the way they do football, we'd have skipped all this March Madness monotony and just waited a month for the Kansas-Kentucky title game. Good grief. Montari is worse than Favre.
