  • SFA up next

SFA our next opponent is waiting. UNI needs to put this game in the past and focus on SFA. We can not and should not linger what could/should have been. We learn from the mistakes and build from them and use what works-and perfect it. ISU was a good practice game for UNI (and yes it was a loss officially, but get over it) and I am pleasantly excited to see what can-will happen.

    Remember WE are UNI-Team-Explosive-Dominance!

Two weeks ago, SFA defeated Nacadoches Jr. High School 119-2.
    Very impressive.

Mercifully, they pulled their starters halfway through the 4th quarter.

It was Nacogdoches elementary and it was 256-3

That's simply embarassing that a middle school got a safety on them

I think we looked solid last night and dumb penalties + rusty kicking dug us a grave. Every ISU fan in the world knows that they dodged an atomic bomb

Time to start the real season, lets go Panthers, what do we know about the jacks, other than the run the spread.
Oh, and let me make this perfectly clear to you people: you go to UNI, NOT IOWA. The Hawkeyes and their fans do not give a crap if you remain "true to them" or some stupid self-fulfulling bullcrap like that.-OTP

Not sure why this game is any more real than the ISU game. Anyway it's going to be a tough one. Big time test for our pass defense.
"I think they're very good," Farley said of the preseason top 25 Hawkeyes. "But so are we."

possibility that both UNI and SFA could be competing for the same playoff spot or seed or something. Perhaps not a huge probability, but some might consider it a factor in making it more "real".

Beating ISU would be more impressive to the selection committee than beating SFA.

I dont think that was the point he was making. I think he meant if SFA and UNI were both competing for say the #1 or #2 seed in the FCS playoffs, you'd think they'd give the nod to whoever won the head to head matchup

Yes but that game is over and a loss to iowa state looks better than a loss to sfa.

Those of you traveling down, I wish safe travels.

Saturday - looking at a high of 94 degrees as of right now...hopefully something changes and it cools off a few degrees.

I agree but not by too much though....

And a win against a D3/futureD2 team (regardless of the score) doesn't mean any more to the committee than a loss to a BCS team.

Of course, the whole "now the real season begins" is just one of those coach-speak/cliche type phrases. Though actual coaches probably save that phrase to use for conference play as the "real season".

It was 98 here on Thursday so we aren't completely unfamiliar to that amount of heat.

We just saw that the dew point on Saturday is predicted to be 58 degrees in Nacogdoches. And the game is at 6 pm, so the high temperature during the day doesn't mean quite so much.

However, Rev, I DO have a question for you regarding "allowed items" in the stadium: Does SFA have any "rules" about what can/can't be brought into the stadium? I don't want a repeat of the BS we got handed at Jack Trice last night.

                              Thanks!
