Yes, very true. Another reason we probably win the NC in any other year. That App State team was crazy good. IIRC they were receiving consistent votes in the AP top 25 all year long.

They were good but almost didn't make it past the 1st Rd. ASU needed JMU to dump a fumble at the 10 on 3rd down as they were lining up for the game winning field goal.

DJ is never going to get enough carries to get there. He does all sorts of things catching the ball in space. He'll have crazy total yardage numbers, but won't break Lewis' record.

Well, other than App St, who destroyed them...

Was going to bring this up. 2008 was our best shot but we blew it. No doubt in my mind we would have beat Montana in the NC game, considering Richmond beat them. The Montana monkeys will probably scream otherwise but they had a run 1st offense which our defense was designed to stop.

Looking back is painful.

He needs 2160 yards over the next 2 years, hopefully that is at least 28 games like C-Lew had over his last 2 years, if he has that many games I struggle to bet against him

He needs 2525 yards to break Kenny Shedd's all purpose record

As long as we are talking about more than 2007....its really comical at this point taking the 40,000 ft fly by:

The Sanders Fumble
Parsons, Victor Williams and Johnny Gray getting kicked of the team
David Horne/Corey Lewis/Sinkfield not getting enough touches
Carlos getting too many touches
Billy's terrible kicking under pressure
Brutal play calling when trying to finish teams


The list could go on and on.....

I'll just go on assuming we used up all our miracles in the 2005 season....

For as big of a sports fan as I am there have been only a small handful of times where I've felt physically ill and/or lost sleep after a loss. That Richmond game was definitely one of them.

No...I'm not that much of a sports maniac that I let my emotions get affected to that extent about anything sports-related. But every time I think about UNI football in the first ten years of this century, it still sticks in my craw.
