UNI Football Confidence Picks Game

Who’s in for this season’s Confidence Picks game? I think it is really going to be a really fun year for this game (and I have every intention of returning to the glory of my 2017 season performance).

If you aren’t familiar with it, think of it as a UNI football season version of a confidence picks game for predicting the winners of bowl games.

Here is how it works:

1. Before the kickoff of the UNI/Iowa State game, pick whether UNI wins or loses in each game.
2. Assign confidence points for each pick (1 through 12 with 12 being the pick for which you are the most confident and thus win the most points).
3. Sit back and watch. Or change your confidence picks for games that haven’t started and confidence points that haven’t been used. If you make changes, do so with a reply post which I will check, not an edited post which I would probably never see.
4. If your prediction for the game was correct, then you get the points. If your prediction was incorrect, then you lose the points. This gives us a big range of +78 to -78 points for the season.
5. I will post standings after each weekend (or someone more savvy with spreadsheets will).

Example. Here is a set of confidence picks by a diehard Panther fan who thinks UNI will win every game. She has assigned confidence points in descending order following the schedule (12 points for beating Iowa State, 11 S. Utah, etc.) So, if they actually win ten games (losing only to ISU and NDSU), here is how the scoring would work:

• At Iowa State. UNI loses, so she loses 12 Confidence Points. -12.
• S. Utah. UNI wins, so she earns 11 Confidence Points. -1.
• Idaho State. UNI wins, so she earns 10 Confidence Points. +9.
• At Weber State. UNI wins, so she earns 9 Confidence Points. +18.
• Youngstown State. UNI wins, so she earns 8 Confidence Points. +26.
• At NDSU. UNI loses, so she loses 7 Confidence Points. +19.
• South Dakota. UNI wins, so she wins 6 Confidence Points. +25.
• At Missouri State. UNI wins, so she wins 5 Confidence Points. +30.
• At Illinois State. UNI wins, so she earns 4 Confidence Points. +34.
• Indiana State. UNI wins, so she earns 3 Confidence Points. +37.
• At South Dakota State. UNI wins, so she earns 2 Confidence Points. +39.
• Western Illinois. UNI wins, so she earns 1 Confidence Point. +40.

FYI, panthergirl123 won with 62 points last year.
