Is everything ok with Adam? I really don't like posting this, but a few gentlemen at the game were talking about how he doesn't like playing for UNI and is looking forward to leaving. I can't imagine that being true and am hoping that someone can provide a much different perspective. Once again, I apologize, but I was very curious hearing this tonight.

Re: Viet
I would imagine he's not happy with the amount of playing time. I think we are recruiting players that are better than our veterans, and some of them are taking it better than others.Selling a lot of old UNI stuff here: http://www.panthernation.com/showthread.php?t=65762

Re: Viet
I would agree that the overall talent level of our younger players has passed up the veterans. That does not mean that they cannot be valuable and there will be games where we will need Viet and/or Travis Brown to step up and make some shots for us, but I see Reed's return and the emergence of Montgomery and Dunham eating into their time as we hit conference play.

Re: Viet
Not much different from T-Brown...maybe Brown is slightly better defensively. Either could go 0/7 or 7/7 from 3.Originally posted by DiggityViet is a liability out on the court right now. Everyone in the Valley knows that they don't have to guard him until he makes a three or two. As for his defense, it is non- existant. Nice kid just not a very big threat on the court right now.
Montgomery brings more intensity on d, but has committed lots of cheap fouls adjusting to this level. Has a nice shot, lots of hustle, and for some reason reminds me of Dale Turner although not a pg.
I'd like to see him and Reed get the majority of the minutes.

I agree. I still haven't seen Reed play, but I like what I've seen from Montgomery.Originally posted by FerociousCat View PostI'd like to see him and Reed get the majority of the minutes.
Now if Jake would only start playing the best player on the team as well, we might have a decent team.

Re: Viet
Not true. Brown is VERY athletic. For some reason he just doesn't perform on the court. He lets himself settle for threes when he could be penetrating (which he actually can do very well) and he's careless with the ball.Originally posted by FerociousCat View PostNot much different from T-Brown...maybe Brown is slightly better defensively. I think he's battling with himself right now and it's a head game for him. I don't know who's winning.
Agreed about Montgomery. He really looked comfortable toward the end of Wartburg, like he got in a groove and was having fun. He didn't look uptight like he has at times this season. I think he'll contribute nicely this season and even have ONE breakthrough game in the spotlight during conference play!

Re: Viet
Viet did what we need from Viet. Step up and make a couple of big free throws. The kid may only be really good at one thing, but as long as that is what we expect or what we ask him to do, he'll be fine.
For those down on Brown, he was 2-4 shooting for 4 pts, only 1 3 attempt. He also grabbed 7 rebounds including 4 of the teams 6 offensive. Yes, he fouled out in overtime. Josten and Coleman each had 4 fouls as well. All in all, it sounded like he had a pretty good game. Maybe he's more comfortable coming off the bench and we'll continue to see postive contributions from both Travis and Viet.

Not to knock on Brown too much but he had two fouls at the end of the game that could have been very costly.Originally posted by Khan4Cats View PostFor those down on Brown, he was 2-4 shooting for 4 pts, only 1 3 attempt.
