  • Those Unable To Go Or Out Of The Midwest

For those who aren't going to be able to make it to the tourney, here is the scoop. The games on Saturday and Sunday will be on FSN Midwest and Comcast Chicago...as well as Fox Sports College. In addition, if you have Sirius Satellite Radio, the games will be on Sirius as well. I'm not sure if it is Rima with the call on Saturday on Sirius (I know he was on Sirius on Monday's game), but it will be available if you have that service. Here is the blurb from the MVC office:

The tournament, which features nine games in four days, culminates on Monday, March 7, with a nationally televised championship game on ESPN at 8 p.m. CST. Six games (the four quarterfinals and two semifinals) will air on FSN Midwest, Comcast SportsNet Chicago and Fox College Sports, and the final seven games of the tournament will also be available on Sirius Satellite Radio.
The Lord reigns, let the earth be glad; let the distant shores rejoice, clouds and thick darkness surround Him; righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne. Fire goes before Him, and consumes his foes on every side; His lightning lights up the world; the earth sees and trembles; the mountains melt like wax before the Lord of all the earth. The heavens proclaim His righteousness and all peoples will see His glory.

I called mediacom... and they are planning on dumping Fox Sports Chicago in favor of Comcast Chicago, but not until April 1.

Last year they put the games on like channel 68 or something like that, and I asked if they would do that again, and you basically talk to a brick wall when you call them. Usually it's some old lady that doesn't understand that I'm not talking about the Hawkeyes (I live in Iowa City, so I can see why they would assume that).

If anyone could call Mediacom and request they put UNI's games on (Saturday and Sunday at 2:30), I would appreciate it. The number is 1-800-332-0245

P99...I called this AM and got the impression they have received other calls regarding broadcasting the tourney (Maybe we are getting some help from Bulldog and Blue Jay fans as well). They took my name and number and promised to speak to the technical team and call me back today. I will certainly post what I find out. This is not a time to wait though!, we have to have Panther nation continue to call 1-800-332-0245 and request they pick up the feed. Be prepared to be on hold but it's worth it!!!!!!!!!!

That's interesting, I sure hope it is correct, because it is not the story I got. I called mid-morning and was told they were working on getting the games. The guy said the games would be on channel 22 if they were able to work it out and I should call him back this afternoon to check. I called back at 4:30 and he said "it's all up to Drake." I said what does that mean and he said if Drake wins tonight their game tomorrow will be on. I asked about UNI and he said they didn't know yet if they would be able to show UNIs games.

Channel 40 is the FoxSports Chicago channel, it would seem to me the only way it could be on 40 is if they moved up the switch from FSC to Comcast from 4/1 to 3/5, but then again I'm no expert on cable broadcasting.

He told me they would call the register and tell them what games will be on, so whatever the correct info is it should be in the paper tomorrow morning.

My digital cable guide tells me that FSN channel 40 in des moines will be showing the HORIZON LEAGUE tournament. So, I'm not getting my hopes up with mediacom. What a drag.

The game is going to be on Channel 22 from my sources....not 40.

I'm getting conflicting information now as well. My original source was a secretary at Mediacom and obviously, from other posts, there's some confusion. Regardless....Keep Calling!

What a surprise...the game wasn't shown in Des Moines. The Fox Sports in Des Moines has to be one of the works sports networks ever. I can't wait for Comcast. But, I did get to listen to the wonderful Gary Rima on Praise 940 AM!!!!
