  • Optimistic Look

I know you shouldn't look ahead, but I think we are in a really good position in the conference. Especially with 7 of our last 13 games at home.

    UNI 11-6, 5-1
    The remaining schedule
    1/17 @ DU We will say...tough L for us.
    1/21 BRAD Must W
    1/25 @ MOS W
    1/28 ISU 50/50...protects home W
    1/31 @ ISU L
    2/03 @ BRAD L
    2/08 CREI L
    2/11 SIU W
    2/14 @ WICH W
    2/18 DU W
    2/24 @ ISU W
    2/28 EVAN W
Plus a bracketbuster game at home. We will be nice and say W

We'd finish 20-10, and 13-5 in the conference. I'd think 5 losses would be a 1 or 2 seed in St. Louis. Definately top 3.

What do you all think? Its just a guessable prediction. But I like our chances. Especially with how this team is playing. Could be a special season still.

I said at the beginning of the season 12 wins and I am gonna stick by it! Now there were times when i thought they wouldn't even get to 6 in conference, but coach jake and the staff made some changes and they are playing well.

We need to go into the Knapp center and steal one from Drake! I know they are tough at home, but if we use our size and move the ball around against their zone and also attack the zone, then i like our chances!

I told 3ballkaboom prior to the Evansville game if the Panthers could go take care of business at home with the remaining home games (5-1) and play .500 ball on the the road (4-4) the Panthers would be in good shape. Well, so for 2-0 on the road. It is now time to protect the home court and make a statement.

              Re: Optimistic Look

We've had some favorable matchups due to the schedule here recently (i.e.- Evansville plays only about 7 guys, and they were coming off of a tough, physical game at SIU on 2 days rest...B/c the Evansville game was on a Tuesday, UNI had an extra day to prep for Drake. B/c Bradley plays tonight, UNI will have about 1.5 extra days to prep for them).

However, this will soon change. Next Sunday night's game is at Missouri State, while our following opponent (Illinois State) plays on Saturday afternoon. We host ILSU on a Wednesday. Our next opponent, at Indiana State, plays at Creighton the day before on Tuesday.

Anyway, just another way to look at it. Hopefully, the guys keep playing at a high level, and the depth that has been established really pulls through over the next few weeks. After that, the schedule turns a little more to UNI's favor.
The Lord reigns, let the earth be glad; let the distant shores rejoice, clouds and thick darkness surround Him; righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne. Fire goes before Him, and consumes his foes on every side; His lightning lights up the world; the earth sees and trembles; the mountains melt like wax before the Lord of all the earth. The heavens proclaim His righteousness and all peoples will see His glory.

Dammit people, why must threads like this be started!!!! AAAHHHHH!!!!

This team will play on Thursday night at Arch Madness.

                  Coach Jake is un-prepared.

                  JE doesn't deserve a scholarship.

(these are brought up again just in case the team read this board in late December and is still looking at it needing some continued motivation)

                  You stay classy Redbirds.
