    Re: Returning starters next year

The thing to also remember about those years with 38 starters returning, was that the Valley had still been a multi bid league the previous 4-5 years. We're coming off of a single bid league two years in a row. I don't expect 4 bids next year, but I do expect to get back to at least 2. The MVC's perception has to change more in order to get back to the 2-3/4 teams in consistently. 4 teams came only once. 3 came only twice, I believe.
The Lord reigns, let the earth be glad; let the distant shores rejoice, clouds and thick darkness surround Him; righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne. Fire goes before Him, and consumes his foes on every side; His lightning lights up the world; the earth sees and trembles; the mountains melt like wax before the Lord of all the earth. The heavens proclaim His righteousness and all peoples will see His glory.

I think a strong showing with some quality non-conference wins will do more for more bids than any perception that we're coming off back to back one-nid seasons. Of course there will be an even split of 5 BcS representatives and 5 for everyone else on next years' committee, too. So I'm not thinking there will be too many more slots available for non-BcS teams than there were this year.

Good point. I agree. The returning talent looks great, but expecting 4 teams from this league is a little unrealistic.

        I guess anything can happen though . . .

Hopefully Moran doesn't enter the draft and go to the League, we need all the returning starters we can get.
