    UNI's 2009-10 Opponents

    College Hoops Network is once again counting down the top 144 teams in the country, per their opinion. Here is a look at some of the teams on UNI schedule. I will admit, some of the work done is not the greatest, but it's food for thought.

      Siena has announced their schedule. I don't like the fact that they get 1 week to prepare for UNI, while UNI faces Iowa mid-week.

                  It usually helps if they get the names right to look credible. The SIU article confused Carlton Fay and Tony Boyle but I see the author fixed that problem after I e-mailed him. However, he didn't change the part of his article about how Tony Freeman could average 20 PPG because he scored 13+ PPG at Iowa against Big 10 competition, and could dominate the MVC.
                  "Lot of people talked about Ohio State or Georgetown or Michigan State or whoever, [or] Maryland in our bracket. When the brackets came out, the first team I looked at was Northern Iowa," Kansas Coach Bill Self.

                    Butler is a home team this season in the bracketbusters. I'm hoping Siena will get to travel to Hinkle fieldhouse to play them this season. Also Siena will play a MAAC game on Monday, Dec. 7 and could still add a 31st game (50/50 at this point) on either Dec. 9 or 10 so they won't have a week of prep time for Northern Iowa.

                    The Northern Iowa game will be a Saturday night game (Dec. 12) 8:05pm eastern time or 7:05pm locally for you guys (listed on Sienasaints.com) Here's hoping one of the ESPN family of networks picks the game up!

                        I'm hoping that Siena game gets national/regional coverage as it should. The football conference championship games should be over with by then (ACC/Big 12/SEC are on December 5th). That should leave some open time for college basketball coverage.
