The Ames/SE Polk game just had a shot of coach Jake and Roy Williams chatting it up tonight in Wells Fargo.

I would love to be a fly on that wall.

yeah, I saw that too and found it interesting. I don't know why really, I guess it still seems strange to me for Roy Williams to be in the Wells Fargo arena in Des Moines and talking to Jake.


Doug is having a great offensive game. Getting out Muscled a little at times on rebounds and defense though, but I am excited for him to be a Panther!

Could happen...a game that is...and it may be in the very arena that they are at.

How awesome that Jake will go home tonight to sleep on watching the selection show tomorrow afternoon on CBS, Roy will go home to watch the ESPNU NIT show.

But Roy will probably be home about the time Jake is pending how long it takes for a Lear jet to get from Des Moines to Chapel Hill and how fast Jake drives on Highway 20.

Didn't one of the TV announcers speculate as to what they may be talking about. Then the other one said that Roy asked Ben to give him a call from the NCAA tournament and tell him what its like.

Jake and Roy go back to his UND days....

Ben played with Mike Boschee at UND, and Roy at KU at the time recruited Mike's brother Jeff Boschee to KU. Roy did schedule a home and home with UND back when Jake had just left as a assitant here, but his brother Tom played on UND's team. Roy liked to do that for his players, give them a chance to come back to there home State and play a game in front of family and friends. I believe it was the 2000 and 2001 season's.

We had over 14,000 in REA(Hockrey Arena)for UND (D2) vs Kansas it was a Great Day!

So the possibility of them discussing a home and home isn't as far-fetched as one might think? Makes sense for UNC to play UNI and reunite the two High School teammates for a night. While UNI doesn't have a 14,000 seat hockey arena, we do have a dome...

Like JC said, WF Arena would make a lot of sense for that game. It wouldn't be completely unheard of for UNC to come to the McLeod, but with Harrison being a Central Iowa recruit, the point would be to make it very easy for all of his family/friends to appear.

IIRC, during the Barnes selection show, ESPN speculated that he will get a chance to play ISU. That is, if he sticks around four years. From what they were saying, Roy makes a promise to do everything he can to get a game in their backyard if they stick around.

I would not be sad to see UNI getting that game over ISU. Probably a better game, pit HS teammates against each other, and it would be nice to attempt to fill the Well for a basketball game outside of the HS tourney.

does anyone really believe UNC will be down for long. They'll be top 15, maybe top 10 next year you can count on that.

Take a look at the DMR photos from the championship. They had a love affair with Roy - shot just as many game photos as they did of Roy watching the game.
