They still bring more to the market than the state of Kansas does. For instance, if the Big East gets a tv network, the state of Iowa cable buyers will pay that additional few cents to get that channel. Much like the Big Ten network. Not everybody wants that channel, but if they want cable tv, they are going to pay for it.
Iowa is a bigger tv market than Kansas.

I won't eat crow because I said before the game that I thought we were good enough to win but I didn't necessarily expect to. UNI's defense frustrated ISU all night and their shot selection was absolutely terrible at times. Plus, the fact that we don't have a big man worth anything really killed us on the boards. Also, I didn't see anything that made me think the refs had any major impact on the game.

Also, I don't think many ISU fans really considered how tough it is to play college basketball on the road. There are reasons a good team can have such a long home winning streak. UNI is at 18, a few years ago Iowa got up to 20 something, and in the early part of the decade ISU had something like a 30 some home win streak. It's possible because it's such a huge advantage.

Also, many ISU fans are not considering that while an uptempo system is fun, it's tough to take it on the road an win. We've seen it before with Orr's teams. That said, the game last night was uuuuugggglllyyy and I don't miss Chewieball in the least.

clown dave. the clowns don't bring anything to anybody. The earlier you realize this reality, the better. No one outside of IA has any need for the clown.

Kansas brings Kansas City. Case closed.

I've never really read much of CF, but holy cow. There are some pretty delusional, clueless idiots over there. Man, I love UNI and Panther fans!!!

yeah I still think ISU fans are pretty good ones. I think that fan base just has so much pent up from the last few years that they went a little nutty after winning 6 games with their hometown legend at the helm. I hope they do well the rest of the year, and they have some very talented players.

ISU fans are desperate for a winner, this is a fact. Unfortunately it will be next season before we see a team capable of being competitive in the Big 12.

I hope Iowa State wins 24 games this year. If they do a 20 win season could put us on the bubble, easily. After last years exposure, 20 wins, and a win over a BCS at-large, that would look pretty good. I don't mind ISU fans, they are mostly ISU alum and I can respect that. It is that "other" fanbase that bothers me.

Well put Jeg. I am a huge ISU fan from here until march!!!

One question if we beat Iowa do we have to be hawk fans?

I agree that after last year we get some leeway on at large bid if we can put some big wins up and win maybe 22 or so games.

                              Beating Indiana would be nice!!!!!

College basketball in Iowa is like "The Godfather." Iowa State is Fredo Corelone, the second son. Skipped over in favor of younger and stronger UNI, or Michael Corleone. Iowa (Sonny) died a few years back.
