I too agree that comparing Jordan to Raef is ambitious. But, then again, I guess my comparison was equally ambitious. Kaman was #3 pick I think, and Olowakandi was #1. But like I said, there are only a handful of big men that have his skills that go to a non-BCS type school. Kaman and Olowakandi are two of those (although Olowakandi was more raw heading into college). If Jordan's hard work in college catch up to his talent, he is going to be very, very special.

The Lord reigns, let the earth be glad; let the distant shores rejoice, clouds and thick darkness surround Him; righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne. Fire goes before Him, and consumes his foes on every side; His lightning lights up the world; the earth sees and trembles; the mountains melt like wax before the Lord of all the earth. The heavens proclaim His righteousness and all peoples will see His glory.

That is the beauty of it. This debate can be going on for the next four years. Hopefully the commitment this kid has shown will be reciprocated by Mac for the next hand full of years. Obviously, Mac has to look sexy to BCS type schools.
Anyone know what is the scoop on this Barz kid from Johnston?

What's great is it sounds like he has a real desire to improve, which is a great sign. He also has a fantastic coach in Mac. Both those things help tip him over the top...Originally posted by kcpanther20That is the beauty of it. This debate can be going on for the next four years. Anyone know what is the scoop on this Barz kid from Johnston? If computers ruled college basketball the way they do football, we'd have skipped all this March Madness monotony and just waited a month for the Kansas-Kentucky title game. And watched Northern Iowa play Cornell in the Poulan Weedeater Bowl. ~ Dwight Perry The Seattle Times

PTTB and strike00, good points by both of you and I agree with everyone that is is going to be fun to see how Jordan progresses and what impact he has on the program. Maybe Raef isn't the ideal comparison, but I used him because no one else that people may have had a chance to see play even comes close. You can't teach legit 7' size on a 280 pound frame with a 7'8" wingspan. Couple these things with real basketball skill and it is hard to temper your excitement.
Big men take a little more time to develop so I'm not saying he is going to blow the doors off the conference as a freshmen, but he will be a solid contributor his first two years with a chance to be dominant his last two. Hopefully his presence has a domino affect on the recruiting front....by Odeon. It's illegal in nine countries. Yep, it's made with bits of real panther. So you know it's good."
