There is no way we want to play Drake in December in a meaningless game.

Change it to the big 3 tournament and problem solved.

      Friday night Iowa vs. UNI
      Saturday UNI vs. ISU
      Sunday Iowa vs. ISU
"I think they're very good," Farley said of the preseason top 25 Hawkeyes. "But so are we."

people are acting like the UNI-iowa, uni-isu, and isu-iowa series are on equal footing. its simply not the case. the iowa-isu series has a far, far longer history than the other two.

isn't the drake-iowa or drake - isu series older?

The state’s four Division I men’s basketball programs — Iowa, Iowa State, Northern Iowa and Drake — have played one another annually on home-and-home contracts nearly every season for more than 20 years. Iowa State and UNI have played every season but two since 1980. Iowa State and Drake have played every season since 1908. Iowa and Drake have played every season but one since 1965. Iowa and Northern Iowa have played every season since 1988.

I could care less about Des Moines. They can build their arena, convention center, etc. if they think it is feasable. They think they are God's gift to the rest of Iowa a bit too much.

I am no longer a student, but I think that the Universities' students should be able to go to these games (therefore on their own campuses).

                  I know. Money talks.

And it probably doesn't help that UNI has been beating them of late.

Hopefully it gets sorted out soon and I'll be trying to get some answers from Barta/Pollard.
Nebraska and Creighton have a standing arrangement.

again, the only thing iowa and ISU want to get out of is the contractual obligation to play every year.

it doesnt preclude future games from ever happening again if the schedule works out and its mutually beneficial.

They have a hard enough time getting to the McLeod. Especially if they have as busy of a schedule as a musician does

But hey, yeah, let the university that is flowing with cash make arrangements to get students to this event while sacrificing the revenue from a home game in order to let their ever-loyal fans who live in Des Moines have an opportunity to see their team that they so heavily support through their high-levels of PSC membership and NEVER have any chance to see in the Des Moines area any other time of the year get a chance to fight Iowa and Iowa State fans for tickets. Yep, it will be a 'neutral' court.

it sounds like you should be mad at UNI for not negotiating a better contract.

                                I agree. I hate neutral-site games.
UNI isn't exactly splitting atoms in terms of academics. -run&blade
