During the 2009-2010 season it took 15 straight wins for us to crack the top 25........and then we lost to Wichita State.Comment

The team that also lost it's best player like 2 games after they played us, that argument against us pissed me off all year in 2010, the reason we got a 9 seed, but also the reason we had the chance to beat Kansas in the 2nd round.Originally posted by 06panther10 View PostComment

I think I'd attribute the 9-seed a little bit more to the losses toward the end of the season to a mediocre Bradley team, and a terrible Evansville team... Granted, we lost the Eagle for the Evansville game, but the committee didn't seem to care about that... By my projections, we should have been a 7-seed at the worst. The 9-seed was a joke.Comment

and the MVC was "down" at the time. Since Creighton wasn't great and I won't even get into SIU the only "names" in the MVC to the outside world were bad, so the conference must be bad.Comment

We were ranked 24th in the Coaches Poll and 26th in the AP Poll going into that tournament but we received a 9 seed. 25/4 = 6.25, but some how we ended up as a 9 seed which means that the selection committee felt we in the 36 to 40 range. That seems like a pretty big variance.Comment

CU is ranked 15 in one poll and 16 in another. Does anyone remember if any MVC team was ranked in preseason '10? So much of this is emotional, and not logical. CU being ranked so highly heading in does nothing but helps us and everyone else in the conferernce, even though the overall league may not be much better than the last few years. I'd love for it to be more logical, but pick your poison I guess.Comment

Read its the first time since 07 that the Valley has had a team ranked preseason (SIU, 24th).
Creighton is highest ranked preseason since one of the Hersey Hawkins Bradley teams was ranked 12th preseason in 85-86.Comment

Someone might check where Wichita was preseason the year if Paul Miller, Sean Ogirri, etc...I think they knocked off Syracuse early on & were ranked in December.
