So if you're to believe message board chatter, the reason the MVC keeps the tourney on the first weekend of championship week -- as opposed to staying in the spotlight an extra 6-7 days is because of the exposure we get in the Sunday slot on CBS. But considering CBS just took a down to the wire game off air in favor of the Mich/Indiana tip, I ask if the supposed exposure is worth it if we just get reminded by that kick in the nuts move that no one cares about us nationally?

I'd be interested in knowing which states lost the feed, here where I live it was on until the very end.Originally posted by UNI MadCat View PostSo if you're to believe message board chatter, the reason the MVC keeps the tourney on the first weekend of championship week -- as opposed to staying in the spotlight an extra 6-7 days is because of the exposure we get in the Sunday slot on CBS. TERRIBLE decision by CBS to cut away from what was, an EPIC finish!
How many more years is CBS contracted to show the MVC final game?

Re: MVCT and CBS
That's always been the story, however you'll remember the tournament was a week early even before the CBS deal, when it ended on Monday.
I think the real answer is that they're seeking to keep from getting buried in the avalanche of power conference tournaments next week. Move to next weekend and you're largely a footnote. This weekend you can stand out a little.
I do think it hurts in terms of at-large selections.
Did the switch the game in Des Moines as well? It could be a "footprint" thing.

Imagine the outrage if Indiana had been playing Nebraska and they cut away in Omaha for a Husker game.Originally posted by anderjao View PostAs expected, Nebraska stuck with the MVC game to the end.__________________
