I agree. I couldn't believe MVC TV had a first team without him last night. Van Vleet, Carter and Odum are all good but Baker could be the best player in the league and deserves to get a nod at G over at least one of them, if not all.

I had it down to Baker and Marcus Marshall when I voted for the preseason All-MVC team (also had Lemon on there, pffft). I regret my decision.

Although, he has to stay healthy. He's been playing at less than 100 percent with an ankle injury.

I have never been a fan of Lemon. I never understood all the hype he got. He's a good (streaky) scorer and thats it.

He plays a reckless, selfish style and he is playing out of position (he's not a PG) on a terrible team.

Lemon was the top returning scorer in the league, he's always had good steal numbers and Bradley was supposed to be better than they are. But you're right, I wouldn't want him to have to carry my team.

If we play well we have a decent chance in this game, honestly we don't match up to poorly with the shockers, I don't think they are as good inside as they were last year, but they may be the best shooting Wichita team I have seen. We have to shoot well, which is something we sometimes do at Koch Arena (it is either extremely hot or cold at that place for us), and we have to rebound.

Kinda goes along with what I was gonna say. I feel like we always either get blown out or win a close one there. It'd be neat if we could keep it close enough to have a chance in the end.

Getting off to a good start will be critical in this game. Our confidence will take a big hit if we come out flat and dig ourselves a big hole.

I completely agree. We did very well to start both halves against the Braves. We come out cold in either half, like we have on several occasions, and it's going to get ugly.

On another note, if we continue to go through the post, as we did Wednesday, we will improve our chances. Based upon Jake's comments going into the half, it appears to be something He has been preaching and the players finally bought in.

IMO, make these happen and I like our chances. Well, that and our normal defensive priority.

This is one of the only home games of the year that scares me. And they are bringing their crappy, horrible, frigid weather with them too. If they screw up our 15-0 record I am going to rename one of my 5 year old's pet fish "Northern Iowa" and flush it down the toilet -- alive.

Composure is the key today. I'm looking at you, Seth and Deon. Make good decisions and hit open shots and it should be close. It seems like we tend to shoot OK at Koch, but we also get rushed and out of sorts with the ball. Continue to work the ball through Seth and use crisp passing to move the ball instead of over dribbling because we aren't gonna get calls on the road. Take advantage of their aggression by moving towards the hoop and reversing the ball. Should get some layups.
