This is the time for the best 3 point shooter to light up! I think Matt Bohannon is key.

A win today would be huge! First, it would prove that we can win on the road. Second, we would jump up to the Indiana State recognition level (instead of being considered a distance 3rd place contender behind Wichita State and Indiana State). Third, it would be a step in the right direction for an at-large bid.

I don't want to get ahead of myself, because this conversation may be irrelevant in a couple hours. I think today's game will define what our postseason expectations should be.

At-large??? The only way this UNI team is on the bubble is to go undefeated in the regular season MVC and not win the tournament. In other words, it ain't gonna happen. The only at-large team from the MVC is WSU if they get knocked off in STL.

I agree that it's a stretch. If we win today, then it isn't out of the realm to expect us to go 15-3 in conference play with losses of Wichita State at home, Indiana State on the road, and probably one more loss on the road (most likely Drake). That would put our overall record at 21-9 going into the conference tourney. Additionally, being that our current RPI is 80th, I think we would be in the top 50 in RPI.

With that being said, at-large is not out of the conversation. But, the conversation only occurs with the right result today coupled with an almost perfect run through the rest of the conference schedule.....that's why I said it's a STEP in the right direction for an at-large bid.

Too many non-con losses to soso competition for an at-large under almost any circumstances. The conference being down doesn't help either. MVC is a one bid league in 2014.

Hope we play like we did against Bradley. Great ball movement and shot selection (especially Mitchell). Nice aggressive defense leading to turnovers and fast break points (love the Washpun breakaways). Keep playing like this and we have a shot.

We have a top 30 strength of schedule.

An at large is a giant mountain to climb, but not at all impossible. 14-4 and Sunday in StL gives us a top 40 RPI.

That said, it's very, very unlikely but there's no need to slam the door just yet.

As for today, if Washpun and Mitchell continue to value the ball the way they have lately we'll give ourselves a chance to win. Just can't give away possessions against a team that defends as well as they do.

Wasn't that the issue that hampered Baker last year, also? Thought he missed quite a bit of time last year.

he had a stress fracture last year.

high ankle sprains suck. i eventually had to have surgery.

                      At Large? ROFLMAO.

If UNI is only going to beat WSU once, it needs to be in St. Louis.

Get 2nd or 3rd in the league and hope to upset them in the MVC title game. That is the only way UNI or anybody else not named WSU is getting in.

Uh this WSU not Bradley. They can take away a lot of your offense and not expose themselves defensively.

So, was there something we did well against Bradley that we shouldn't do against WSU? I know they are different teams, but I really liked the way we played against Bradley as our warm-up for WSU. Or to put it in other words, I'm not sure we have had a game this season that I would prefer to have preceding WSU than Bradley based on how we played.

Now, let's go out and keep it going.
