Cyclone fan here in peace, thought you guys might get a kick out of this. Crazy the domino effect this had on Creighton, UNI, and Iowa state.

Re: Blame Harrison Barnes
Just what I needed, a reminder about how those decisions repeatedly kicked one of those 3 schools in the nuts (UNI).Originally posted by Hoiball View PostCyclone fan here in peace, thought you guys might get a kick out of this. Crazy the domino effect this had on Creighton, UNI, and Iowa state.

Re: Blame Harrison Barnes
The UNI angle makes sense, but the PG part also points out why you shouldn't / can't rely on Iowa high school players to be competitive on a national level. The state of Michigan is loaded with talent, with plenty of very good players leaving due to the BCS schools having a limited number of schollys. ISU found a guy who MSU and the Wolverines didn't really want, and he's light years ahead of any Iowa kid they could've signed. Recruiting Harrison Barnes and McD are fine, but they're somewhat of a one-off. Its out of state players which will make your team nationally.

Wouldn't have happened if Oregon hadn't fired Ernie Kent, my first BB hero, back when he was in high school.

Yeah you guys are the only ones that came out on the wrong end of that one. Pretty ironic how losing out on the best Iowa high school prospect ever has been the best thing to happen to the ISU program.Originally posted by orangetennis View Postthe second to last sentence is false!

Re: Blame Harrison Barnes
Great article that really makes you think about the interconnectivity of life in general. It's amazing how little choices or decisions each day can make such a huge difference (butterfly effect).Give us a yell, HO! The purple and the gold
Victory for U-N-I!
Find out what the other team wants to do, then take it away from them.

Re: Blame Harrison Barnes
I wouldn't go that far. With a talent like that on campus, what could have been for a couple ISU teams? Final Four? More high level recruits? Both very possible with HB in toteOriginally posted by Hoiball View PostYeah you guys are the only ones that came out on the wrong end of that one.
