Singleton's big 3 point shot deserves its own thread. It was huge. The pass to him was not particularly good so he had to reset his position for the shot. Resetting so quickly usually means a missed shot is coming, but he drained it. I forget about him on the court, but it seems like when the defense is doing its best and stopping other guys, Singleton gets open several times each game and makes momentum-shifted baskets. His baskets aren't just points, they tend to come while the defense thinks they are getting stops.

Re: Singleton's 3
The fact that he has made a couple three' is important so that opponents have to respect his shooting at least a little bit. They are not quite as likely to ignore him to double Tut.
Great kid, waited his turn and is key piece as well as a fan favorite. Great story."My role is to lead, plain and simple. . . .I with the help of my staff and our administration, we will lead." --Ben Jacobson

Re: Singleton's 3
The three was great. But, really, that seems like kind of a low percentage shot. My favorite Marvelous Marvin Moment was his drive around the lane to the basket. He doesn't take the ball at the top of the key and drive in for a lay-up very often and if he can add that to his repertoire, that would be a high percentage offensive tool for the team.

Re: Singleton's 3
I was so surprised that he didn't transfer early in his career. Not only am I glad that he didn't transfer, but I respect the hell out of him for sticking around.
Same goes for Martino. His minutes have declined throughout his career but he stuck it out and continued to be a big part of this team behind the scenes.
Those two guys are perfect examples of how UNI "does it the right way."
