Tough place to win. Couldn't be prouder of this team. Showed toughness finishing this game. This should give them confidence. Rough start to the 2nd half but they showed guts grinding it out. Don't count this team out!

      Way to keep fighting guys!
That was a trash Saluki team but they had a lot of momentum, a lead, and home court. Could've hung our heads there and taken L #6 laying down, but no way. It feels good to get rewarded for that extra effort!
      Solid (if not pretty) win!

Could this double digit comeback road W for a 3-game winning streak turn this season around?

Don't forget Ashton. You could make a real good argument that he's been our best player since conference play started. Not saying it's as good, but adding Ashton to your post makes it look totally different.

Starting to figure it out. Defense is where it HAS to start. Other than the run to start the second half, we were solid there. Need a full 40.

Still have a hill to climb, but we're 3-5, were 2-6 last year at this point. 1 game out of 4th, Evansville and Drake this week.

I missed the first 5 min of the 2nd half, but what I did see, SIU made some really tough shots.

Finally, a win in the 50's. I hated that stat saying we had to score 70 to win. Back to Panther basketball!

Don't let this game distract you from the fact that Barry "COTY" Hinson got a four year contract extension this year.

I miss the ol' "Winning with defense" team, glad to see that it's come back.

Tough to do playing 2 minutes per half. The staff needs to put him on the floor and let him play. It's ridiculous watching him get pulled as soon as he makes a mistake, while they let others make the same mistakes over and over again. Yes, he missed a layup to start the 2nd half, but I don't recall another player from UNI getting to the rim the remainder of the half. He also pushed it and got a layup for Ashton the next time down the court. I think that was probably the only transition bucket UNI had all night. You all want him to sit and learn, but you never see a coach working with him on the bench to point things out on the court as they are happening. If you are going to sit him on the bench, make it a learning experience at the same time.

The staff has basically wasted a year of eligibility for both him and Brown. What's the point of playing Juwan the first 2 minutes of each half and then benching him the rest of the way? Brown only sees the floor once every 5 games. Tough sell for future recruits who are told they'll see the floor right away.

That's true. Sub him in for Wyatt in the equation, I guess.
Ashton has been much better than the others, especially in conference play.

Well deserved. He inherited a mess that is going to take time to rebuild. He's a very good coach and really good for the Valley to have him in the leagues.

Defense. They will figure it out and will earn more time as they show more. Brown is getting minutes (15 of 19 games played not once every 5), but he is behind Morgan and Ashton right now so minutes are tough. Spencer gives us more offense than McCloud and his defense is good enough (not saying he is great, but he is learning to play position a la Matt Bohannon).

I think both will still have impact moments as the season goes on.

Exactly. They were poor in terms of talent and results but they were also teetering on the edge of academic probation from the NCAA for APR.
