the Blue Jays won't go easy. they will compete well despite loss of Funk. the Panthers will prevail in the last 5 minutes of the game with a crowd of 6800 cheering them on.
i would like to see more than attendance of 6800, but it will be a stretch, especially mid-week. overall, i question this area of the state as to just what they would attend for this type of event on a regular basis. remember, we had minor league baseball in waterloo, a paramount theater that was a palace in waterloo, and the home of the fighting Sullivans in waterloo. due in part to lack of support, they are all gone. each could have been a pleasure or landmark to be kept, but they are gone. i question just how much the people in this area really want to support this team. it certainly can't be for having too many other venues of entertainment, or for lack of money. there can't be all that much else to do, and UNI has done a great job of making low prices available for tickets----just go and check the prices of movies, or perhaps bowling for the family---it isn't any bargain there either.
Luckily UNI doesn't rely solely on Waterloo for support. You are right, Waterloo doesn't support much of what they have. It's sad, but them's the ropes...

They are going to call Johnny Mathies on the foul." or "How can they make that call?), then I think you can pick up the station in Des Moines. It is one AM station that gets to boost its power after sun down, I believe, and has a pretty good range.

I can get 590 all the way up in Mason City at night. Pretty sweet.

I hope that in the future, UNI athletics becomes the exception. I would like to commend the Courier on keeping the Waterlooians informed. I think that helps a lot.

The words "without funk" should be deemed illegal. Creighton has showed they are good regardless who plays, both historically and this season. They also have the knack to walk into the Dome and win. I think we're the better team regardless, but it will be a classic with Ben reciprocating Nate's dagger last year. UNI 62 CU 59
