FINALLY, now maybe all the rumors of his leaving will finally quit.

It's a start at keeping him here with us, but still pales in comparison to the 1-2Mil he could get from a major school, which we just can't really compete with.

There's another potential angle to this: maybe this now means Hartzell will not look as hard due to further commitment from the powers that be (boosters). As AD, he has to realize that's what is required for UNI to take the next step. The Farley and Mac raises may well make RH sleep easier at night, and he stays.

Does this mean his base will be $350K or 350K total with incentives? What is the BASE this year + what do the incentives amount to?

A nice move, and hopefully only makes it more likely that he will stay.

Let's be honest, if this program can take that HUGE next step, and become the "Gonzaga of the midwest" like we hope it will, bigger money will only continue to follow. Hopefully Mac looks at his as a sign of things to come, rather then a 'tapping out.' Remember, a year about 250k was the "absolute top salary possible."

This is great news. I agree News. I understand $350-400,000 is not $1 million but I'm hopeful that if things continue in the direction they're headed and more cash comes into the program that we can get close enough that the intangible considerations keep him in Cedar Falls.

If nothing else this means that if Mac leaves for a 1 million dollar salary someday (knock on wood), we will have become a destination for other top Mid-Major coaches around the country. But yeah... let's hope Mac keeps his bad self right here in the Cedar Valley as long as possible.

No doubt. Can we get a few more of these people? I know, I know... wishful thinking.

The donors are wonderful people who have ask for their name to be kept out of the news. It is a gift truly from the heart and for the love of our basketball program. It is for salaries and whatever the needs of the program are.

I wonder how much of this money was included in the increase of Farley's contract? I am very happy that this money has come up. We need to keep good coaches around, and this is one way of doing it.
The Lord reigns, let the earth be glad; let the distant shores rejoice, clouds and thick darkness surround Him; righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne. Fire goes before Him, and consumes his foes on every side; His lightning lights up the world; the earth sees and trembles; the mountains melt like wax before the Lord of all the earth. The heavens proclaim His righteousness and all peoples will see His glory.

That's a good point. Mac and his staff have put UNI on the map and if he should leave, I think we'd have a good chance to get the pick of potential applicants.
