  • A Beautiful Sight! The McLeod Center

Got into work early this morning, a very nice, clear sky, December morning. I was heading north on Hudson Road as campus came into view around the water tower and there was the McLeod Center all lit up. I am use to seeing the Dome lit up early but the Dome was dark and the McLeod Center just glowed. An impressive view!

I know some folks have commented that the Panther logo on the building needs to be lighted, but my first thought was if they back-lighted the logo (which is a a raised metal sign) how would that look from a distance.

If done right, from a distance I think it could be a black panther head on a purple background and then in the daylight cut the lights.

Campanille bells ring, are you listening,
      In the lane, purple's glistening,
A beautiful sight, McLeod at night,
      Walking in a Panther wonderland.

The meter is a little off, but thanks. I'm sure someone a little more musical than me could really do a nice job with it.

"That won't discourage UNI fans like Sean Ward, though. Ward, who attended Monday's luncheon wearing a "Northern Iowa Cheerleader" sweatshirt, was overflowing with pride about the Panthers when I talked to him. He just wanted to make sure of one thing."

Sean Ward?! That's Doo-Dah!! Why am I not surprised that Doo-Dah made it into an ESPN publication?

                    Sweet

That was a fine article. In spite of the losses of late, things like this (article) make me even more proud to be a Panther.

Ya know what? I'll STILL be in St. Louis, having a great time.

This must be the guy that wears like 4 dozen beads and has a Tropical Tan 24/7/365. Nice dude. Someone tell me more about this super fan. What does he do? Whats his story?

The same Doo-Dah that used to work at Bo's in the late 80s? He was also a photographer or something, right?

Relating to the article itself... if the person is planning to go to all of the MVC schools, why not make sure there is a GAME when they are in town? Nice write up, obvoiusly, but sure would be a lot cooler if they could comment about being at the game itself.
