  • Game 6: UNI @ Bradley

An historically early dip into conference play that will be the norm going forward.

Bradley has been, well, bad to start the year. Home loss to Howard and an 0-fer at the Paradise Jam. Did beat a terrible Maine team in their last time out and held them to 39 points. Competent frontcourt led by Mast, Henry and Boya but the guard play has been rough and that's probably being generous.

This is one of those games that you absolutely HAVE to get if you're going to compete for a title.

This game scares me because they are something like the unluckiest team according to KenPom. We are the better team, but we need to show up and play like it tonight.

I hope we crush them in the first 4 minutes and hold the lead comfortably. Our team needs to continue with confidence.

Phyfe has had great games against them in the past. Establish an inside game and open up shooters on the outside - just that easy. BOOM. JK. I wish it were always just like that. Keep the momentum building from the last game. Go Panthers!

This is a game we typically lose (early-season road game against a bottom tier conference team). It will be a good sign if we can steal this one.

Here's a stat for ya. Jake all time is 5-10 in the first conference road game of the season. He's 2-2 against Bradley in those games, most recently a win in 2019, a game which I will always refer to as the Justin Dahl game. 6 points, 8 boards, 2 assists, no turnovers, a block, and 2 steals.

              That's a heck of a stat line!

I always worry about the first conference game, and I think Wardle is a pretty solid coach. I'm hopeful that the St. Bonaventure game was a huge confidence booster, and hopefully they come out firing again. Also, I'm weirdly happy it's a road game to start. I just think we have a tendency to come out flat at home. We don't need that tonight.

I think we are like 2-10 in Valley openers the last 12 years.

4.5 favorites tonight. Should burry them, but with our track record, who knows…

I like pickford and I know he brings a lot of other things to this team but he absolutely kills the offense when he's in.

Listening not watching, did Henry get the start over Phyfe tonight?

Good to see AJ pick up where he left off. I'm looking these purple unis too.

Not a fan of the frequency of subs thus far. Let guys get into a rhythm.

Pickford with 3 3 point attempts in 5 minutes of action is not ideal.

No but Jake subs him in after about 2.5 minutes
