Its possible. I hope you are right.

But it could go south pretty easy. Our bigs arent good enough. I question our scoring. And God forbid Bowen or Tytan got hurt, we’d be toast.

A lot of things are going to have to go right. Small margin for error.

Sincerely though, as rough as it was early in the paint defensively, great adjustment out of the guys and frankly a mindset change. They shot less than 50% from 2 today, and ultimately they fouled us more than they did. Pretty much even on boards in second half. A LOT to like on both ends of the floor, Michael Duax, Bowen Born, and Tytan Anderson are going to be a formidable trio this year and next.

I hope you are right. I mean we will for sure get better. And are very young 63/67 points from Freshmen and sophomores today and that's without Heise. (Although a bit misleading with COVID year but still young).

But we do have a few glaring holes, no size at all and not sure we have a go to scorer/shot maker yet, plenty who can though.

Will definitely be interesting to watch. Just have to enjoy the games, watch the team get better with no pressure or expectations. Record will likely not be that good (unless the MVC is really that bad this year) but hopefully by STL are a team that can make a run.

Camera switched angles so you can't see exactly when we inbounded ball but it might have been at around 55 seconds. Could have used that time.

As previous comments said, you always want to win, but we weren't looking for at-large bid this year. So it's about young team getting better and second half had things to like.
No change in the rule. The clock stops on any made basket UNDER 1:00. As you stated, GCU scored with 1:03 left, which is not under 1:00. Clock continues to run.

And technically this team could have AJ, Phyfe, Noah on it lol

Frustrating even with a young team we seem to struggle so early on. Really wish we coulda split this

I’m still more upset about yesterday’s game than today’s tho. Our loss will be to a less of an opponent as well because of it, tho GC is still pretty good

oh well, hopefully can roll once conference is around

Going to need to be a great free-throw shooting team to keep the score close. 50% will not cut it, especially before double bonus time. Turnovers are nicely low, considering our youth. We are going to be out-rebounded a lot, but we can't give up this many offensive rebounds. One-and one misses, turnovers, and offensive rebounds mean too many possessions for the other team without us scoring on ours.

Born and Tytan are studs, I can’t be too displeased with how they’ve taken on their new roles this year, hopefully they can continue.

Any reason Henry got 1 minute today? Is he still injured or just frankly not up to speed with the game

We're not big in the post but we're really big on the wing. It's a weird setup that is going to make us tough to guard.

I honestly just don't think Henry is good enough right now. He's a small 6'9", and his offensive game just hasn't developed. He can't defend the post at all. Betz provides an outside shot and is much thicker. Krogmann is a thicker dude, too, who can defend and rebound. I just don't think his excellent passing is a good enough trait to get him minutes right now.

Strong finish after that poor start. We have to make some free throws. None of this is new information. We got outrebounded horribly and only lost by 2. Campbell and Duax need to stay aggressive. They are two guys who are athletic and long enough to get their own shots. I agree with BC that the future is bright. Add Pock to that crew next year at 6'7" and Rubin at 6'8" and the wings are just wild for us. We have never been this long. Even Landon Wolf is longer than I thought.

I hate moral victories, but that's where we are yet again. Way to fight back, but these guys need to learn how to close a game out. The last possession was a head scratcher, we were down 3 with 11 seconds left and got fouled with under a second left without even getting a 3 off. I don't know if that's bad coaching, nobody wanting to step up, or something else, but you can't have that.

This team is a lot closer to being in the bottom 4 of the MVC than top 4, imo. We are playing 2 walkons, the bigs aren't really bigs, the guards are young, and the wings are good but not great and now Nate is out. I hope we can stay afloat and that Ben can get us some actual wins rather than feeling okay with losing to good but not elite mid-majors.

He's a one trick pony. I've said it before the season started, but in practices I've seen in the best I thought Betz was the better all around player. Cole is great at passing the ball but is a poor defender, can't score, and isn't like he's any better on the low block than James or Tytan are.

How can we be in this position already? We’re only four games into the season and the cupboard’s already bare. UNI’s recruiting is a complete joke. Should have been reloading through the portal for the last six months.
