This is the weakest Jacobson team I’ve ever seen. But they’re out there hustling their asses off, and I love to see that.

I'm glad this board didn't freak out over this one. The kids deserved to get one, tonight. I just can't believe what I'm seeing. I love these kids through and through...

I continue to love this team, the potential is there. The fact of the matter is if they were healthy the past week they likely win all 3 as opposed to losing all 3. They're right there.

At this point you just want guys to keep getting minutes, learning, and getting better.

We’re not great, but hey, it happens. Ever loyal.

For me it all came down from this, we had a scoring drought in the second half from the 17:02 mark to the 11:16 mark. Duax hit a jumper that put us up 47-46. South went on a 13 point run A SIX minute and 14 second scoreless drought. South went from down 2 to up 10 in six minutes.
I can't fault the effort but man, Freshman gonna Freshman.

we get frustrated and then press the issue rather than letting the flow come back. I know, easier said than done. I was the worst one at it myself.

I'd throw in the late game drought. We got within 2 at 61-59 with 5:08 to play - we didn't score again until Bowen was fouled with 55 seconds left. We went Tytan missed layup, turnover, Duax missed jumper, turnover, Bowen missed 3, Tytan missed layup. I feel like that's kind of typical of a young and unexperienced team, but somebody needs to step up at some point. Almost 20 turnovers again last night certainly didn't help either.

Much better play from Betz and Henry than I've seen all season. That's the kind of effort we are going to need to see in MVC play.

There's now a template for slowing down Bowen and Jake is going to need to find a way to adjust to get him better shots. I don't blame Bowen for the shot selection, that's on the coaches to change what they are running to get him quality looks. Overall that was a great effort last night considering they size they were up against.

Duax crashes the boards well. Wolf is showing nice promise on the offensive end.

Campbell does things better than he should as a freshman. My only complaint with Campbell is I want him to quit giving the dumb foul away after a turnover. He's got to let those go and save those fouls. He had two last night that were reactionary and he would have been on the court at the end of the game. I'm not saying the outcome would have been different but he did guard Harris in the second half and his production slowed a lot.
If computers ruled college basketball the way they do football, we'd have skipped all this March Madness monotony and just waited a month for the Kansas-Kentucky title game. And watched Northern Iowa play Cornell in the Poulan Weedeater Bowl. ~ Dwight Perry The Seattle Times

What is up with opposing teams talking crap to our fans after the games?

Some in the student section and the cheap seats by the band were yelling some pretty dumb stuff at them the whole night. I mean, yes... The team should just ignore that. But also, lets be a little more witty and timely with our burns as UNI fans. (Not directed at the band, they do a nice job.)

I could quote many posters' comments as being very spot on here.

The multiple turnovers we gave up by them stealing our dribble was something new. Some of our bad passes may have been the result of not playing together much & bad spacing on the pick and roll + not being ready for a pass. Lots of new combinations out there, but they do have many more hours of practice time together than a high school team.

The switch of Campbell for Born guarding number 2 worked. Trey doesn't look that much faster than Bowen, but maybe it's because he moves so smoothly. Plus, he is taller.
I hope everyone's hard work is rewarded soon.
