I was actually thinking about this the other day that we could have a bench mob situation sans 14-15 where we had a guy, Max Martino, who was a good player but wasn't good enough to see the floor that year. I'm predicting a similar outcome for Drew Daniel next year with the freshmen coming in.
I was thinking about the Luke McDonnell situation. Played nearly 23 minutes a game in 18-19 due to injuries, etc. The next season we’d rarely see him, only played in a dozen game, a couple/few minutes a pop.
With this recruiting class, it’s quite possible we have someone getting significant minutes this season who will disappear next season.
I mean this with all due respect to Drew Daniel, I've no reason to not believe he's a great person, I'm sure we could hang and play some Smash Bros together, he was a better basketball player than I've ever been by the time he was only 13, but holy cow I do not want him seeing significant playing time next year. If he is, it means that Rubin and Pock are not nearly as good as they appear to be, which is bad news for the future of the program.
Betz probably doesn't have much for minutes if Rubin is as good as advertised from day 1. I'm not sure how much Wolf sees with Heise coming back and Duax probably having a significant role off the bench.
That being said trying to speculate what the roster would have looked like this year at this time last year would have been pretty useless in the end.

Correct. He's done a great job this year when we've needed him in a pinch but he can't be a real part of the plan next year.
Minute distribution will be interesting and challenging which is a great problem to have.
All of the speculation about next year's minutes are based on none of the guys entering the transfer portal. At this time last year, nobody knew that Noah Carter would not be a member of this year's team. It's still fun to speculate but temper that with a dose of reality.
