The missed one on Born under the basket was atrocious

Losing this one sucks.I wanted to make fun of the way Cochran moves around the court, but I guess they’ll get the last laugh

They're literally throwing their bodies into us on shots and get no calls.

Cochran is a bull in a China shop. He fouls on both ends of the court, but was rarely called today. We actually made several shots while getting fouled down the stretch: Nate's runner, Ty and Hut underneath.

We can't beat stronger teams unless the officiating favors us. We're just not as physically strong as other teams and they muscle past us, through us over us.

Officiating sucked. Just a fact. It was bad. We also didn't play quality defense today at all. We can't win if we don't play defense. That's just the way it is. Bowen was a stud today, and we couldn't overcome it because we played bad defense all game. We also made a ton of lazy passes on offense and were lucky only a few got taken away from us.

Nate was probably as bad as he'll be all year today. He couldn't finish inside and couldn't hit anything outside. I still honestly believe he needs to be more of a Pickford role for us than an outside shooter though. I thought that was going to be Duax, but he is a bit of a mess right now.

We should not have felt like the smaller team, but we did. Hut needs to take over when we have that kind of size advantage inside. Slow it down and beat them up inside.

I know Toledo is probably a decent team, but this just feels like a bad loss. It doesn't ultimately matter, because at this point St. Louis is the only thing that matters, but I would love to see some quality basketball for extended periods of time. Always #EverLoyal

Defense was actually ok today. It wasn't great lock down, but they didn't necessarily shoot the lights out, and the team got stops when it mattered.

The biggest differentiator were the bad turnovers that led to easy points on the other end that helped buff the field goal numbers a bit.

They did only have 6 turnovers and we did foul a decent amount which does suck. Also while I get Hutson is a good 1 on 1 post defender, the guy has 2 blocks in 240 minutes this season. I know blocks aren't the only metric, but I doubt his defensive field goal percentage at the rim is favorable to him and the team.

Thought he was fine on offense. Got buckets when needed. I don't know if I want to slow it down and go completely through him. The guy is prone to turnovers if you get a bit of pressure on him.

So, you’re Heise’s coach. What do you do in practice to improve his ability to finish at the rim?

It's not a bad loss but it's still one you've got to finish.

We're kind of terrible at everything department wide right now and I'm sad.

Our hoops teams are a combined 4-14. WBB has played a brutal schedule especially, but they are -19 in average point differential. Things are so rough.

Ultimately the game came down to two things: A guy who had made 1 three all season, made 2. There was also about a 2 minute stretch in the second half where we did not handle the press and went from up 6 or 7 to down a couple. The guys continue to get closer to 40 good minutes on the road, but you can't afford a couple bad minutes on the road against a good basketball team.

Major injuries to starters have kept them from gelling as a team…

That's a valid point for the women's team. The men is a whole different train wreck. Again these games only matter for figuring out how to play 40 minutes. It all comes down to the conference season which we've managed to dig ourselves into a two game hole. No one is going unbeaten in MVC play and we've got to position for a top 4 place heading into St Louis.
If computers ruled college basketball the way they do football, we'd have skipped all this March Madness monotony and just waited a month for the Kansas-Kentucky title game. And watched Northern Iowa play Cornell in the Poulan Weedeater Bowl. ~ Dwight Perry The Seattle Times

About the Boffeli situation - if I heard coach Warren right Saturday, the entire team was able to practice for one day a week and a half ago (which was the only time this season so far). This would have been after whatever happened to her in the South Dakota game, right? Does that mean Boffeli re-injured herself in practice? Have you heard what the injury is?

On the good side, McDermott had an excellent game Saturday, just need to get more people going.
