We are about 5 minutes from MVC basketball tipping off with SIU/Charleston at the Sanford Pentagon. I'll be trying to tune in to see what the new look Salukis are doing.

New SIU has some work to do defensively. They play faster paced but College of Charleston put up 90 on them. If this is how SIU is going to play, it should be more exciting basketball, but I'm not sure it's going to equal more wins at this point. Obviously early though, so we will see what comes of this.

I was curious to see how the guys who transferred out did yesterday...
I found it a little interesting that Bowen didn't start for Colorado St last night. He went from being the dude to a role player. Still played 24 minutes last night, 7 points 7 assists.
Duax started for FGCU but didn't do too much, 7 points with 5 rebounds.
Landon Wolf started and has 10 points for ISUr.
The Bowen transfer is still a head scratcher to me, but it is what it is.To avoid confusion - my username is baseball (Cy Young award) related, NOT for the Cyclones.

Heise is playing on a team that will contend for a B12 title and has a legitimate shot at a Final Four. If he stays here his ceiling is getting a win or two in the NCAA tournament but to get there all the stars have to align. ISU is all but guaranteed to go to the dance with all kinds of upside from there. Hard to fault someone for that.If computers ruled college basketball the way they do football, we'd have skipped all this March Madness monotony and just waited a month for the Kansas-Kentucky title game. And watched Northern Iowa play Cornell in the Poulan Weedeater Bowl. ~ Dwight Perry The Seattle Times

Heise and Born got paid and also got the opportunity to play in the NCAA tournament. For sure Heise. Born's chances are probably a bit better at Colorado State than here obviously. Neither one was going to play NBA and will most likely play overseas if they want to do something professionally.
I actually think NIL impacts this level of player significantly and that is the level we are consistently recruiting.
