Only negative I really saw is we shot more 3s (33!) than 2s. Thankfully they went in at a nice clip but dont want that to be the achilles again.

Couple things with this, first off I have a relative that is a freshman, when I got to the game I sent her a message and said are you coming to the game? She replied back, "I had no idea there was one". Is there some sort of messenger we could use to send a quick message out to students on game day letting them know that there is a game and the link to get their ticket. Even if you pick 50 kids that would be a good thing.

Secondly, how hard would it be/how much would it cost to run short commercials about upcoming games during the 6pm news on the local stations. I know that people don't watch the local news like they used to but I still think this could add to the crowd.

Finally, I think we need to run ticket specials early to get people into see this team, they will like what they see, and come back.

One other thing that I was thinking about, and I am not sure where you put them, but I think a few tables around the concourse where people can sit and eat concessions would be a good thing. Buying ice cream and walking all the way back to our seat with a 4 year old is a bit of a challenge.

The team? Awesome. Let's have a special year.
Yes, crowd and student section was pathetic. Only negative of the night for me.

Totally agree that Bond was POG, but Hughes did look good..8-14 and 4-8 from 3 are great numbers in a game. I won't hold 0 assists against him here without remembering how many passes he made..when the rest of your team hits 9-38 and pass-first player Davis has 6 of those dimes...well, that's maybe more of a credit to UNI's defense after he got them the ball.

Agree with Mudra about Geon...could be a huge, exciting boost coming off the bench in games this year.

For me the X factor right now is post depth. Heard Will H made great strides this off-season and I hope Diouf gets in a groove as he's in line for 15 min a game..maybe more if Hornseth gets in early foul trouble.

I thought we looked athletic and strong which was great. My only concern is when we get into MVC play Will and Tristan will need to make some outside shots. MVC coaches will sag back into the lane if them two don't show a outside shot.

Ugh, I’m so tired and annoyed with students not showing up, let them stare at their phones for another two hours. I’m done beating this dead horse.

The football social media team has been doing a lot to go around campus and do fun videos to promote upcoming games. No reason our basketball team couldn't be doing the same. With all the students living on campus, there's no reason we couldn't get at the very minimum a couple hundred to show up.

Been saying this for years. Until the students are an actual reliable presence at games again, I have zero idea why we don't just sell the wooden bleacher seats for $5 to anyone. People buy them when they are cheap. We have had big holiday season crowds just this exact reason in year's past.

If the students dont want to come. Sell them for cheap, get people in the door, fill up the area, sell them concessions, and build a new fanbase.

I'm not gonna get too mad at a bunch of 19 year olds not showing up to a game against CSUN when the program has been in a three year lame duck period. Now, if we're like, 8-1 and the students don't show up for the Wichita State game? Then I'll be heated.

I'm not saying he's a bad fit. It's just going to take a great deal of work. Defensive positioning and blocking out. Just don't loose your guy.
I disagree on Diouf. My impression was he quietly played a good game. Jake said basically the same thing in the post game. He got some rebounds, was a defensive presence around the rim with some altered shots and at least one block I saw, and cut off a few drives to the hoop by smaller, quicker players (without fouling, big plus). No points, but he did a bunch of subtle things which contribute.

Tristan Smith could be an interesting offensive weapon for us. He’s a got really quick first step for a bigger guy, and that plus his build means he’s going to drive or spin move around almost all of the guys defending him. You can tell the staff wants to use that, and gave him the green light to drive or post up and take it to the rack when it’s there. Finish a few more of those around the rim, and a lot teams we play will have to account for him and figure out how to D him when they scout us.

What 3 year lame duck period? We were an NIT team last year. One of the best mids in the country.

This is my view, and frankly there were more students there than it appeared, some just weren't sitting in the student section.

That was the problem. Empty seats were *everywhere*. If I were a student I’d move too. They are careful to wait until after the game has started and that’s fine with me. But the overall attendance, per my original post, was really disappointing.

A lot of fans are mentally blocked until football season ends. We’ll start getting butts in seats in December assuming they continue to play like this.

I've been a season ticket holder for 20 years. Unfortunately, I have seen this type of crowd many, many times.
