We're starting to talk about this game in the other thread, so might as well get its own game thread going. I don't know anything about CSUN, but I imagine this will be a great test for our guys. Very excited for an actual "game" this season so we can put to rest anything concerning from exhibitions or otherwise. My gut tells me it'll be a similar game to UIU with a close first half and a pull away in the 2nd. Should have Schwieger back for this one, which will be great. Thursday come soon! Go Panthers!

Per Jake's presser on Monday Ben practiced last Friday doing about 60% of everything, and came out of that feeling good. Plan was to ramp up each day of this week going into Thursday, and it was expected he would play.Originally posted by orangetennis View PostAre we sure Ben is playing on Thursday?

Yeah, I imagine he will be on some sort of minute limit potentially if they are still nursing it that much.Originally posted by Wxcpanther View Post

They have a LOT of transfers on the roster...all but maybe 4 transferred in last year or for this year.
I think I saw that they have six guys that are 6-6 and 5 are between 195-205 (one skinny dude at 175). Don't know how many play...and would normally be lots of height or length at the 3/4 spots. BUT they only list 3 players taller : 6-10 (DI transfer who was a backup there), 6-9 ( 13 starts at CSUN last year- 6.2 points, 3.8 rebounds) and 6-7 JC transfer. So some must be in the paint a lot.
Could be an interesting match up.Last edited by BobCat; 11-05-2025, 10:50 AM.

Good grief. I had to look that up to see it with my own eyes. The team they played, Bethesda University (D2, D3?), didn't score until the 3rd quarter, and they only scored 3 points then. How humiliating would that be?Originally posted by Purple member View PostI saw CSUN women’s team jumped off to a 72-0 lead last night before winning by 90

Is that the game where I saw a headline that the whole team had the flu and was playing with the flu? Not sure it's the same game. Brutal no matter what.Originally posted by kochrab View Post

How humiliating would that be?"...the Northern Iowa men's basketball team reached the ultimate highs before hitting a devastating low. Unexpected success, followed by unimaginable failure. And they owned it -- all of it -- for the world to see. Like men. Like leaders. Like champions -- in a way no tournament bracket could ever define."

We are sitting at 116 in KenPom going into our first game while CSUN is at 160. This should be a highly competitive game. CSUN is going to be a similar size to us and they will be athletic. We need to take care of the ball and hit shots to avoid transition buckets from them. They did have a bunch of transfers but a good chunk of their contributors are seniors and grad transfers so they still have a bunch of experience and fully grown dudes to contend with.
I'm going to have to watch a replay of the game tonight, but I cannot wait. Go Cats!

Yes it is. So not only is it D1 vs D2, and a women's basketball game where the talent disparity is historically greater, most of the team was also sick with the flu. Just brutal.Originally posted by Born-a-Panther View Post
