I have no problem with it. There are a tons of trophys in sports that don't mean anything, this one actually will if you think about it. If a corporate sponsor wants to do something, more power to them.

Its also something else to show recruits...

So the 2nd meeting between these squads is meaningless?

        Apparently.

IMO this is ridiculous. It obviously has been thought out at the last minute. I would like to know if there is an actual listing of more quotes from Fenk about this to see if he ever was either asked and/or acknowledged that this is not the last meeting and what was the thought process leading to this decision?

Obviously, we know the REAL answer and that is that they aren't carrying the second game and so there wouldn't be the opportunity to hype it up statewide on their network.

I suppose we'll just have to go out and win on Saturday then!!

Since we play DU twice, only the first game has ever really been counted. Not that this really affects anything anyway.
If computers ruled college basketball the way they do football, we'd have skipped all this March Madness monotony and just waited a month for the Kansas-Kentucky title game. And watched Northern Iowa play Cornell in the Poulan Weedeater Bowl. ~ Dwight Perry The Seattle Times

This means more than the Hyvee CyHawk trophy thing, since it takes into account all D1 schools in the state. Having the trophy decided with this game and disregarding the 2nd meeting does take a bit away from it, but it's better than nothing.

Ding, ding, ding!!! That's the answer right there...however, if they wanted to step up to the plate and show the two battles, they could, b/c the Drake game in CF is still not on tv.

Fire goes before Him, and consumes his foes on every side; His lightning lights up the world; the earth sees and trembles; the mountains melt like wax before the Lord of all the earth. The heavens proclaim His righteousness and all peoples will see His glory.
