  • Changes in The Valley

Looks like three new coaches in the Valley for next year,
    Waltman out at Indy State
    Merfeld dismissed by UE
Dr. Tom retiring at Drake, looks like Keno will get his chance

    Could be more:

with Lowery still being mentioned for bigger things, and who knows about Hinson if MoState doesn't get a bid.

That would be a major shift for the Valley.

I would think that the three openings that we have now are the only three.

Lowery has only been at SIU for 3 years and with his history there, it would take something amazing to get him to leave...

Don't be surprised if he left. Any fan of the Panthers should be familiar with coaches and history at their schools. It means nothing.

The Indy Star on their website is reporting that no decision has been made... It wouldn't be like the Des Moines Media to make a mistake would it??

It wouldn't be like them to completely blow a story out of purportion either would it?

The Panther would clearly rip the other two to shreds, eat them for dinner (although it would be a small meal for the monstrous beast) and spit out their feathers to make a pillow!"

Both Jordan Printy/Linn-Mar and Clayton Vette/Waverly are signed to play at Indiana State, I wonder if either of them will reconsider.

It probably depends who gets the job. If Greg Lansing gets the job, then they will still go as he was instrumental in their recruitment.

Not sure what happens if someone other than Lansing gets the job.

I wouldn't mind seeing Printy in the purple and gold as a walk-on for a year and then a scholy player the following 4.
The Lord reigns, let the earth be glad; let the distant shores rejoice, clouds and thick darkness surround Him; righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne. Fire goes before Him, and consumes his foes on every side; His lightning lights up the world; the earth sees and trembles; the mountains melt like wax before the Lord of all the earth. The heavens proclaim His righteousness and all peoples will see His glory.

dont we still have 1 scholly left for this year? or do you have to pay your own way for a year if you back out after signing a LOI?

after reading this, it looks like his whole staff is out and they are looking elsewhere for a coach

Sorry, we couldn’t find the page you’re looking for.Try one of these options:

With Lansing's wife being up high in the athletics administration at ISU, I could see Lansing staying on as an assistant coach with the new staff.

The reason why I made mention of a player not getting a scholy right away is b/c I think the staff is looking for someone who can contribute right away, and I think Printy is a redshirt year away from that. Thus, it wouldn't be the best (most likely) use of a scholy to give it to a freshman that probably wouldn't be able to contribute next season (which is why I think they will go after a Juco). Printy is going to be pretty good, but is still probably a year away (if he were to back out of InSU and come to UNI)...and for the record, this is just my 'ideal' situation if he were to back out of his LOI to InSU (which I hope he keeps, but understand if he doesn't). Again...PTTB's wish list if a decision to back out takes place!

That makes sense. I havnt seen Printy play, what type of guard is he? combo or 3pt shooting? Is the kid from Waverly any good? I think we have enough big guys, but I hadnt even heard of him until tonite.

this is just a hypothetical, but what if Michigan fires Amaker if they miss the tourney again. think they would go after Lowery?

I think Lowery will be a hot commodity this upcoming year. I don't know where he would go though.
