No I understand that, I was just currious if the funds for the NISG were from student fees or where the NISG gets thair money... from the looks of it every organization has a chance to request money from the NISG.... where does the money for the general NISG fund come from?

NISG gets an allotment from the general fund.

Is this true? It used to be student fee money only.

Dannen said he understands the hard feelings but reiterated he had no choice but to cut baseball. Title IX prevented UNI from touching any of the school’s women’s programs, for instance.

This was true prior to 2005, but is no more and the AD, president and the Board of Regents know it. In 2005 the OCR (Office of Civil Rights) affirmed the use of an Interest Survey as a means to pass the proportionality test to measure how much opportunity a school must provide its male and female student body. UNI conducted the interest survey the year prior to Dannen's arrival and found that around 13% of the females at UNI were interested in participating in intercolligiant athletics - no where close to 62% of females that make up the student body. Sadly, UNI chose to ignore their own interest survey because it did not fit their agenda. If the Title IX argument was valid, then UNI is still not even close to meeting the old proportionality test under Title IX where the student body makeup dictates opportunities.

who's gonna sue you the most, an organized, well funded Title IX lobby, or 15 baseball scholarship recepients?

In other news, are people still are complaining swimming & diving being dropped.

Actually, that was a rule put forth under the old administration (Bush II). Not so much under the current one. They rescinded the rule in February.
