If you want to make any comparison, it's Frank Solich. And look what happened to Nebraska after they decided that wasn't good enough.

Farley has earned the right to decide when his time here is done, within reason of course.
He's not really doing that as of late.

Farley is a crappy coach and it's showing more now than ever.

I have to disagree with this. Some of our best players or kids I'm excited about are guys isu and Iowa recruited but passed on. DJ, Rohr, lemaster, Shaw, kilfoy, Farley, gaeta off the top of my head. Iowa only has a couple kids that would have gone to uni (Miller, jewell) but not sure about isu.

Back to the title of the thread. The analogy is flawed, but I can't think of a better one. Someone mentioned Frank Solich. Not sure I see that either, but maybe it's better than Zook. The only real similarities are that Zook has a defensive background, although Zook's resume is far more impressive (largely due to age, SEC experience, and having coached in the NFL).

Zook's rep was that he was a master recruiter, but couldn't put it together on the field. That was largely born out by Illinois having mediocre to bad teams, with several guys getting drafted each year. Farley does a decent job of coaching up some players, but it's not like UNI is playing in a talent rich area to begin with, nor are we widely recognized for blowing away our peers in recruiting. If Farley was at Georgia Southern, Sam Houston State, etc., then the Zook analogy might be more applicable. Farley has also consistently won, and Zook's coaching record was spotty. Urban Meyer won a NC at Florida largely with players recruited by Zook, which just adds weight to the recruiter vs. game day argument.

Twin Cities Panther..............Really? The little timer dude? That's all you got?

If I recall, when I posted previously, I gave my opinion as to the loss at NDSU.

Then I did sincerely asked if you would consider meet/greet Saturday and you didn't show; so I assumed you didn't make it or chose not meet, which I respect.

Those that know me are surely getting a chuckle from your characterization of me. I don't intend to criticize you, since obviously sites like these are created for fans voicing their opinion.

I'll continue to read, but my postings are less, since my posts are opinions, not criticisms.

My only thoughts are a reincarnation of "Master Larsen". Sorry Twin Cities Panther, there's just these similarities.

Right, I was just addressing why he hasn't won at those places.
