This is going to be an interesting game. As I understand it CP offensively is very much a running team, which plays into our defensive strength. And defensively they are also strong against the run, but not so much the pass. I like our chances if we start SK and use a passing game from the start, bringing in AB in the right situations and as a change up. AB had a reasonably good game against EW, I don't know if we win that game without him, but this game calls for a different approach. I'm certain we are going to see both QBs all year, and I hope the coaches can figure out which to use and to what extent against different opponents and in what situations.

I'll be in Boston saturday and don't imagine I'll get to see the game, even if I wanted to watch a 10:30 start. Please everyone be considerate and don't mention the outcome until after I get home the following weekend and can watch it.

otherwise it is listed on American Sports Network (whatever that is),
and on Comcast Sportsnet Chicago's "CSN Plus" subchannel

by using those fun equations...CP beat Montana who beat NDSU...get a win here...couldn't really ask for a better situation going into the start of the MVFC. I'll gladly even take 4-1 or 3-2 through the gauntlet we had to go through.

If we go to 4-1, you would have to make a strong case for us at #1 (not even close to being comfortable talking about us hitting that mark).

Cyclones need to play well here to help us out so that abomination in Week 1 doesn't look so bad.

I get Directv and the sports package and it looks like it is on a channel in the upper 600s like 698 or something but you have to pay the extra $13 a month to get the sports package channels.

I think the offense is being run differently when Kollmorgen is in the game. Whenever they called a pass play for Bailey, it seemed like there were no check downs. Every route was pretty much 15+yards downfield, and still developing by the time the pass rush broke through. When Kollmorgen was in, there were short, intermediate, and deep routes called. This seemed to work much better. I'd like to see this approach to the passing game when Bailey is in the game. Also, I noticed in the second half, I'm pretty sure Twait and Hanson were in the game instead of Schleuger and Appleman. The OL seemed better with this unit, so it'll be interesting to see who starts this week.

And also, we need to be seeing more of Miller and Huggins at RB IMO. I've noticed that we stick with the same RB for every play of a drive, and switch backs pretty much each drive. From what I've seen of Smith, he tries to bounce too many runs hoping for a big play instead of taking the simple gains. I know our line play has seemed rough, but seeing him get less than 2 ypc on 8 carries when Miller got 7 ypc on 18 carries is pretty telling. Huggins has looked good when given lanes to run through (his screen pass against ISU was nice), but he just hasn't gotten a lot of carries.

On defense, our safety play needs to step it up. Kilfoy got beat deep a couple times, as did whoever else we played opposite him (believe it was Webb and Young). A few weren't exactly the safeties fault (corner routes beat cover 2 almost every time), but it seemed like there were too many deep passes. Hopefully this gets fixed.

On a side note, I'm kind of surprised we haven't seen any of DJ Singleton (Nebraska transfer). Farley mentioned him as a guy who was in the battle for the spot opposite Kilfoy, but he hasn't played there at all. Its all been Edwin Young and Jordan Webb. Also, we haven't seen any of the DT transfer Bryce Douglas or Rod Hall from Clemson. Are these guys injured or just not better than what we have? It just seems odd that they seem to fit in at our thinnest positions, but haven't seen much time. Last year we rotated DL a ton, so I figured to see Douglas a bit, but he hasn't played yet. And Hall looks like a good athlete, but at WR its pretty much all been Fountain, Cunningham, Brown, and a bit of Demos. Just find it odd that Demos, a guy who practiced at WR for a week or so is ahead of him. Also, WVU transfer Brandon Napoleon hasn't suited up at all, so might he be redshirting this year? It would make sense to do that since we have Hall, Dorleant, Whiting, and Buchanan at CB, although we still haven't had a FS step up.

Hall played quite a bit in the 4th quarter at Iowa State and caught one pass from Dunne for a short gain but I don't think he saw the field against EWU.

After watching replay of game...very impressed with the true freshman Twait kid..not exactly sure when he came in but i would guess he will be starting left tackle on sarurday..looked like he dominated the guy in front of him....

I thought the Fox affiliate in eastern Iowa picked it up? Either way, they're pretty much the same thing, and it'll be on locally in Eastern Iowa.
