    Exactly, I think we would prefer a home and home with them right? Cheaper, good for the Des Moines alumni base. As long as we could strategically pick the year we play there.

    Drake wants the check and doesn't want to get humiliated at home in front of their 19 fans.

      I actually think we would. Easy win that's still basically a home game.

        Yeah I think we would embrace it. It's been fun for us fans when we've played there in the past, and the UNI base in Des Moines would probably show up pretty strongly.

          Agree we'd take a game in Des Moines...and that Drake wants nothing to do with it.

          Not good for their brand in Des Moines to get pasted by UNI.

            Looking again I saw Drake on September 12th. So our bye is most likely the week before conference play.

              With all the dumb **** that's happening in college football - and us having a new AD in place by 2026 - maybe we can not play the Iowa trifecta.

                In the covid year we were to play at Iowa. I believe we may have honored that contract and then put the pads away until spring as NDSU did that fall playing Central Arkansas and not again to spring. Between 2020 and last year Iowa agreed to playing UNI in 2026 to full fill the 2020 contract.

                  We didn't play Iowa that year. We shut down til spring and the Big Ten played conference games only.
                  Winning is more fun than losing.

                    League schedule for 2026 is out. Not a ton of favors done with early home games again. Super late bye week.

                    Updated. 2026 is an 11 game year so the schedule is complete.

                      We're not winning enough here either. Just forget about the hawks and clowns and play a MAC and a MWC school. Maybe, we get one. Do you ever want to win again? Yet, we'll go to Iowa City and Ames to get our teeth kicked in. Probably go, 6-5, again.

                        With the EWU series, the Iowa State game appears to be....gone?

                        EDIT: Rescheduled to Aug 30, 2031 when the Allstate Oreo Bucc-ees Cheez Its 12 has 28 members.

                          Really bummed to see the Iowa State game not being a priority. Anybody know the story behind this? Is the football version of this in-state game going the way of basketball?

                            I'm hoping it just sanity returning to UNI scheduling. We had Iowa and Iowa State both on the schedule for '26 and I can guarantee Iowa State was more willing to work with moving things around than Iowa was plus Iowa's guarantee is $100k more. Iowa State is booked a long way out with FCS games so 2031 was their next open date for an FCS game.

                            Feels like it was more circumstance than anything.

                              League schedule updated for losing Missouri State.

                              I hope nobody enjoys home games with decent weather for tailgating or being in the playoff race on November 1st.

                                Drake in September and another in early October, plus we do have an open week there we could add another home game in September.
