  • Why do we insist on holding the ball

for the whole shot clock when we are down 10 with 2 minutes left?

I honestly think we need to change our offense. Our players don't know how to play fast because they aren't allowed to in this offese

In general, I agree. Ironically though, there were way too many times tonight when an ill-advised shot went up early in the shot clock.

I agree, it seems that Jacobson and the team have no clue what they are doing on offense. I just hope we can learn a good offense soon.

There were, but I feel that part of that is because we don't know how to play fast or early in the clock

personally UNI is not a good team. Jacobsen has some horrible players on his team. No leaders, no go to guy, and especially no team-unity. I hope the seniors pull these guys together outside of practice and lay down the law! They are not play UNI basketball, and most certainly playing together. We need to get on a hot streak, otherwise its going to be another year without post-season play.

They are decent. Not good. No one (as per picked in the bottom half of the conference) expects them to be much except for us. but they do have 10 wins, and thats more than 50% of Div. 1 teams. There is no such thing as a horrible division 1 player. EVeryone has their flaws, even you. They wouldn't be playing/performing Division 1 NCAA sports if they were not good at what they were recruited for. Some kids may not develop any more/peaked early. But that does not make them horrible.
Coleman is the biggest asset and leader/captain on this team. He's been that guy with Stout the last 4 years.
I know you were stating your opinion, but i just dont agree.

"Horrible players"??? Who are you comparing them to? If it's the Celtics, then I agree, we're horrible. If it's other somewhat similar D1 programs with a young roster, then you're either too negative or off your freakin' rocker. I agree there's no "go to" guard on this team, but your post is way over the top. I'm also not sure what you mean by "UNI Basketball"??? Since when is there a branded version of UNI Basketball, or one formula that MUST be followed?

Do I like the results so far this year...hell no. But...it's way too soon to call us horrible, or drop the program in favor of women's field hockey

Yeah, like right after ESPN showed a shot chart (I recorded the game and watched it when I got home) of our points in the paint so what do we do after the half. Toss up two three pointers (both short) early in the shot clock without a single post player touching the ball both times down the court. Stupid plays.

And why can't Jacobson draw up some plays that work at the END of a game. Especially if we're going to be playing from behind this season. We'll need them. Down 12 with 2 minutes left is not the time to use 30 off the shot clock.

u came up with that on the shot chart alone?

Did you hear about the UNI player who was offered a shot to win a million dollars?

                    He decided to PASS.

I have no idea where this post came from or why you would ever think this is a proper post. I think it should be deleted by the mods for absolute stupidity.

I am not going to quote the post because it is completely out of line. I may have issues with how Coleman (and the team) is playing. But that post is bordering on slander. Unacceptable.
