I think ISU showed a glipse of how they can play the rest of the year. They will be a force to be reckoned with come conference and tournament time.

announcers...
The announcers on t.v. are NOT "ISU only" announcers. Dave Armstrong is the idiot who did the play-by-play and unfortunately he also does play-by-play for a lot of the Big XII Conference games...I can't stand listening to him, he's dumber than a rock. As for Cizek (the woman), she played basketball at ISU and is still around so I suppose that's why she was announcing...I think she's just temporary. Just letting you know so you don't think these are our choices for announcers for our games.

Granted I was in the upper part of the dome with the loud UNI students giving all the ISU fans around us hell, but it looked like we were standing around while they ran circles around our players, we looked passive and slowGO PANTHERS!

It was a dissappointing game because we are a better team than what we played like lastnight. That being said, as everyone has already stated it came down to Free Thorws and OPEN shots. I saw guys that I know can drain it from all over the floor just over shooting threes and open jumpers. I dont think that all of this "We have no bench" is very relevant this early in the year because no one has a very strong bench yet, even the godly DUKE. Any way it comes down to this good players are going to have good games, Stintson did just that. But he only had 19 i think, and Benny 17, so the two "best" players on the floor were good but not amazing. ISU's press cause some problems but only because the open three was not being made. If we had hit 3 more WIDE OPEN treys early that whole game changes. Anyway now we need to refocus and get read for Loyal-Chi. cause they are not gonna be an easy team by any means. Mac will get the boys going, and I saw the guys getting their confidence back, but we made stupid mistakes 3 drives in the last 4 minutes ended in turnovers. You cannot play like that against good teams, but I saw a team with the potential to be great and I think that getting some home games under the belt will shore up those little mistakes that are right now costing us BIG TIME.
GO PANTHERS!!!

No it was the bench. They didn't have to score a ton, but they had to play D and they had to give the starters rest. It was most noticable that Coleman got slow and started missing shots. ISU played more like 10 guys so when someone got tired they came out; there wasn't a big drop off in D and O when the bench guys were in.
The biggest thing I think is getting the big men some rest. Really UNI had a 7 man rotation and just barely that. That's going to be tough. UNI needs 7 solid guys and 2 more that can at least play D.
Several posters have said missing FT's and open shots hurt. Well that's what happens when you get tired no matter how good of a shooting team you are.

Yep that's what I meant... Thanks.Originally posted by wloopantherI believe you meant to say all 7 of those boards were offensive....Coleman had 0 defensive boardsIf computers ruled college basketball the way they do football, we'd have skipped all this March Madness monotony and just waited a month for the Kansas-Kentucky title game. And watched Northern Iowa play Cornell in the Poulan Weedeater Bowl. ~ Dwight Perry The Seattle Times

All i was trying to say in my earlier post is i hate it when UNI plays down to their level of competition. UNI was way better than ISU, we had the better players, its just the fact they can't handle pressure situations. Benny is our only player who can create it seems like. Little is good from the corner. Coleman was a stud last night, he showed he can bang with the boys, but he was going against 2 freshman. I hope UNI can get some things straightened out before next tuesday or it could be a blood bath, you know Iowa is coming in pissed about the last time there at the UNI Dome. Quick question, is the game a sellout yet? Does anyone know?

Why are we talking about Iowa already, we have to play Loyal-Chicago first. Sencond, missing open shots go us behind, which lead to the starters staying in all the time, which lead to more missed shots, ie make the shots early and don't get behind and need to leave in EC and Stout all game.
GO PANTHERS!!!

I take ANY UNI loss hard, but I really don't like losing to ISU, BUT I'm not upset with the guys. They played hard and represented well, they just didn't get shots to fall. Those shots will fall and they will begind to fall soon. We have a great team, they just seem to be pressing right now. I think they need to relax, have fun with the game of basketball and things will start to fall the right way!
Now, I don't think any Panther fan should be hanging their head...after a loss is when we need to support our Panthers more than ever! I'm wearing the purple and gold today and my flag is still flying on my car...GO PANTHERS!!!

Is your car purple on the exterior and interior as well. That would be perfect!!!

Well if that's the case then why did they talk about having done all the other ISU games to that point and that "so and so" and "so and so" were filling in for them this weekend for the Fresno State game? Sorry man, I think you're stuck with these two for the remainder of the season, at least during midweek games.Originally posted by wonkadogThe announcers on t.v. are NOT "ISU only" announcers.
