Please keep it up and keep encouraging other students to improve the atmosphere by getting involved.
Indeed. Keep up the good work. I've never thought about doing something nice for the pep crew. That is a very good idea. Maybe some random acts of kindness for the students who come, especially during breaks, would help do a little to build up our student fans.

i can't take credit for this quote but "UNI is a $25 ticket in a $5 community."

Here's my tip...take it or leave it. If the Interlude will be played at the rest of the home games, I suggest a mass student email with a story of how it came to be and a clip showing the student section rocking in 2010 at the white out game. Explain the tradition and how it spread across the country....even to troops overseas. If that doesn't work then drop it.

I'm sure they've crunched the numbers.

lose this game tonight and waive goodbye to 75% of the students tonight as they walk out the door. Its a shame, so many people worked so hard to get them in the door, we can't keep them there for one freaking game...

This is a great suggestion. I'm really glad that "I Bleed" is active on this board. Seems like the kind of person who makes good things happen.

People like him/her have been on this board for a long time. They put in a lot of work and are largely ignored by the other students for it. Again, it's about the culture and feeling confident enough to say your pride is invested enough in the Purple and Gold to go crazy at a game, or at least invested enough to scoff at your Hawkeye and Cyclone dorm mates who scoff at you for supporting the school you attend.

I think we can successfully say that the student's were in the Mac tonight. For those at the game, were the students into the game or not so much? I couldn't really tell from TV but it seemed as though they were semi-interested at least.

ISU beat writer tweeted that most of them were apathetic about the Interlude and that it was clearly past it's prime. Really sad to hear because it was a blast being a part of that first wave of dances. I'll always be glad I got to participate in something that unique, energetic and electrifying. It still has that potential but kids need to get over themselves first.

I do appreciate that. I don't know many students on here so I bring the perspective of a student.
This is only an idea of what to do for the interlude... Play it at NDSU and for the Wichita St game only. It just isn't what it use to be, it's time for it to be played less. If you played it at our biggest games of the year then maybe we could have the student section going.
The last five minutes of the game was great atmosphere wise, next home game ( wichita st) the students will keep the same atmosphere for all of 40 minutes.

                        • Yes those last 5 minutes finally got loud! Not just students but the whole crowd. After the exciting start things quieted down in the stands so it was nice to get loud again!

I think most of the kids there tonight you will see for the rest of the season, and it was a good student section, but also the "adults" were also better tonight getting into the game.

But, if it doesn't get kids back what stipulation do we have to make, if you don't go to basketball games and be loud you don't graduate?
