Pump. The. Breaks. This isn't a kid we're relying on to play 20 minutes a night next year and he's not taking a scholarship. Pump. The. Breaks.
He's the next Max Martino, right? Jake seems to always have someone like that on the team.

He's not 7 foot tall, therefore he will not be good.

Not a bad comparison. Great student. Probably a bit less athletic, but more skilled basketball wise, if that makes sense...

Max was more of an all round athlete in high school (quarterback, track, golf). Lincoln punted but was primarily a basketball player.

Wasn't Max a state champion tennis player?

Max was a wide out. His brother was am the QB.

Do you get excited about the max comparisons? No offense but more of that does not equal NCAA tournament much less the deep runs most expect going forward.

If that is the ceiling you can give me a couple of juco's that need a second chance to show they matured off the court but are serious ballers on the court. If they flame out all you lost was a roster spot to bench warmers anyway.

Nobody is buying tickets to watch kids do homework at center court. I know I am the minority in here but I also know I am the majority when it comes to the ticket buying public.

I seriously can't believe this discussion is going on. He's a walk-on that has dreamed of being a Panther for his entire life. He's not taking a scholarship and will work his ass off in practice to make this team better. Every successful program has kids like this. This is nothing but a positive.

                  Re: Incoming Recruits

Here's my take. There is a spot for Lincoln on this team. He can do something that only maybe Klint can do. He can post up as well as hit the 3 consistently. That just gives UNI another element that isn't known on the current team. At a minimum, it adds solid depth. Never underestimate how impactful it can be to have guys play at UNI that have wanted to all their life and put their all into making the program better. Can't say we've seen that combo before here.
The Lord reigns, let the earth be glad; let the distant shores rejoice, clouds and thick darkness surround Him; righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne. Fire goes before Him, and consumes his foes on every side; His lightning lights up the world; the earth sees and trembles; the mountains melt like wax before the Lord of all the earth. The heavens proclaim His righteousness and all peoples will see His glory.

I completely agree, but it is the off-season. Time to overanalyze and dissect to the nth degree every single roster addition for hours on end.

In that case welcome to the team. Proud to have a local kid make it to d1. Congratulations!!!

Seriously RnB? You are crying about a walk on that has always wanted to be a Panther? Max was a great Panther his leadership, especially his senior year made an impact on the team. I'll take Jake 's word over your crying.

Also, regarding ticket buying public. A hometown walk on will sell tickets. So, you're wrong.

Conrey is a 3 sport athlete at West, playing football, basketball, and baseball - all at very high levels. This kid is an athlete and Jake knows talent when he sees it. The fact that he is a top notch student is just icing on the cake.

Could be the Eric Sanders of the Basketball Team.

Amen. You never know. Dallas Clark was a walk on. Players develop at different ages. Hard work and some muscle can go along way. I am rooting for this kid all the way. Go panthers!!
