  • Arch Madness - Which win was your favorite?

Don't include the fact that we wouldn't play #3 without winning #2, etc.

Just compare the experience of each game. Which game did you enjoy the most?

Each one of them took about 15 years off of my life. I would have to say the Wichita State win, just because of the middle aged drunk women in a shocker shirt telling my friends and I "NIT for you F*****s" while leaving the arena.

Interestingly enough for some reason that was the game I was least nervous for, I was freaking out about the fact that we led by 14 at half yesterday after trailing by 14 at half last year, and we were the 4 seed that beat the 1 seed, just like the Redbirds last year. For SIU, I just dreaded the feeling of losing on Friday, nothing is worse.

Buzzer beaters always take the cake. I haven't been that excited since Jake Koch took a charge in OKC.

WSU.... I really didn't have faith we were going to pull that one off the way it was going. They really had us out of sorts on offense.

            Pretty much all of this.

I don't recall having as much anxiety before and during games as I did during this tournament. It was excruciating and unbelievably thrilling.

I'd say Evansville since that was the only one I watched.

Evansville for me....because of the grit the guys showed in staying with things and obviously that last shot! But also because of the stress from that game I cannot remember the Wichita game!

Can't beat a buzzer beater to win a trip to the dance. Evansville it is

WSU was a close second however, I really like how they blame both their losses to us on bad shooting nights. Like yea, thats what good defense will do to you.......

I did hear an older couple talking about how the MVC wanted WSU to lose and made sure WSU lost so 2 teams got into the dance. Did anyone see the second shooter on the hill???

I know that the Evansville game was the championship and that it earned the NCAA berth, but the WSU game was MUCH more enjoyable.

If you look at the game flow for the WSU game, we got behind and then established a winning trajectory, where the rest of the game we were in the process of beating them. So the last 30+5 minutes were spent winning.

But in the EU game, we got way ahead and then spent the last 30 minutes on a losing trajectory, where the rest of the game we were in the process of losing ground, just hoping the game would be over before we ran out of lead. It felt awful. (Until the last second!)

I'm shocked no one has voted for the SIU game.

The Evansville game was fun at the very last second but the 2nd half was absolutely excruciating to sit through. I had shaky hands and a nervous tummy the whole time. I could feel it slipping away, and being as it was the first time I'd taken my son to the tournament, I did not want him to see us lose in that way. It was painful. Until it was blissful.
"...the Northern Iowa men's basketball team reached the ultimate highs before hitting a devastating low. Unexpected success, followed by unimaginable failure. And they owned it -- all of it -- for the world to see. Like men. Like leaders. Like champions -- in a way no tournament bracket could ever define."

                            I did.

Reason being that it was the only game that we were really in control of from start to finish. It was a close game and there were some tense moments at the end, but compared to the other two I didn't really feel that there were many moments where a loss looked likely.

I enjoyed the ending of the Evansville game more than any other singular moment for obvious reasons, but I did not enjoy that 2nd half that led up to that point.

The final was my favorite game I've ever seen in person as a Panther fan.
