  • WSU game

Anyone watch WSU play? Too bad for them I thought they were going to get a chance to win it at the end. Anyway I just wanted to say I love there Arena I think it would have been the perfect type for the our arena. The seats like cirle around in a big oval(not square like the Mcleod Center). And it holds like 10.5k wich I think would have been a perfect capacity for us because I'm hoping for continued growth for our program. Any thoughts on this guys??

and what about Jai Lewis for George Mason.....oh my! He's big (loved the comment a biscuit shy of 300#!) and can run the court. Coach Farley could probably use him in football. Too bad for Witchita, even worse for SIU.

I don't like the round house because too many fans are too far from the basketball floor. The basketball court is rectangular, so why not have the seats configured in the same way? I think we will all be right on top of the action at McLeod and I personally can't wait. And I rather like the idea of not having to look at empty seats.

"I like that Braeuer kid, he looks like my paper boy.... but he shoots a little better than my paper boy."

did anyone else hear that one, as braeuer hit a three?

Yesterday for one of the biggest games in program history we we had 8,442. Wh would we build a 10,000 seat arena so that 3,000 seats could sit empty nightly. As much as we would like it to happen, every year is not going to be like this and the beauty of the Mac is that when we only have 4500-5000 (like we did early this valley season) it will still have a great atmosphere. The more I think about it, the more I like the size. There was no need to add and extra 3,000 seats for an Iowa game that only happens once every other year!!

I agree. For those who've been to a Drake game in the Knapp, it seats around 7K I'd guess, and every seat is in good proximity to the floor. IMHO, that's perfect for UNI. 7K in that environment can be as loud as 15K in more spacious setting too.

Actually the MAC is going to be better than the Knapp. At the Knapp, there is actually a lower level and an upper level with the two being seperated by an indoor track that sets the upper level seats back further....and actually has obstructed view seats in the first few rows of the upper level. The MAC will have all of their seats in the one and only lower bowl. It will be very similar to Carver Hawkeye Arena...just half the size and there won't be as many aisles.

The MAC will be about the right size...I keep telling people that the reason for the large crowds is because we have a great team AND it's so cheap to watch a game right now...next year when the free ticket coupons and the 2 for 1 deals are history, you won't find 8,000 - 10,000 people who will pay full price. Plus I'm sure ticket prices will be raised.
