Who makes the list? I would say a top 10 list could be interesting. For me personally the only stipulation would be the sweet 16 team seniors aren't eligible since they didn't play a full season this decade, and I'd have a hard time putting a current Panther on the list, although a case could be made for AJ.

Ok, I'll play along...
Obviously Tuttle is the team Captain and I think Morgan and Washpun would be unanimous selections as well.
I'd also be confident in nominating Ahelegbe, Moran, and Bohannon. The last four slots would come from the following list: Sonnen, Jake Koch, Anthony James, Lohaus, Brown and AJ.
That's twelve names right there. Not sure who else could be chosen above these guys but a debate could be had over the last 2-3 slots on the All Decade team.
I'm ready for more Panther basketball! GO CATS!!!!

Here's my list (setting aside the 2009-2010 Sweet 16 team seniors as Wxc's stipulated or Adam Koch and Ali F (in only two years) are absolute locks of course)...
1. Kwadzo Ahelegbe
2. Johnny Moran
3. Jake Koch
4. Matt Bohannon
5. Seth Tuttle
6. Anthony James
7. Wes Washpun
8. Paul Jespersen
9. Jeremy Morgan
10. Isiah Brown
Marc Sonnen could easily be inserted in there too. AJ may very well get there before his career is over. A few other names that are probably in the 10-20 range that made solid contributions as I recall were Carlson, Lohaus, Singleton, and Mitchell.

I'm not seeing the argument for Jesperson. Outside of the Texas half court heave he wasn`t a major statistical contributor and was never the top shooter nor main defensive stopper. Additionally he was only here for two years. Granted he was the perfect complimentary piece for Jake's system and was certainly a key cog while he was here but definitely not a top ten guy, IMO.
Lohaus and Brown have had much bigger contributions over more seasons than Paul. I'm not hating on Paul but I can't even remember a single game that he dominated during his Panther career.Last edited by orangetennis; 12-27-2019, 09:05 PM.

All the must win games that season, he was the catalyst. UNC, ISU, then maybe the most important one was at Bradley. I remember telling people before that one "if they just win a true road game, look out." He hit 9 3s and carried them to a road win at Bradley and the rest of that season, as they say, was history.Originally posted by BCPanther View Post

Glad O’Rear was mentioned before I got to the current end of the thread. I like seeing Sonnen’s name in there as well.
A strong case could be made for Deon - a four year starter at PG culminating in UNI’s best season ever (even if he did split time with Wes that year).
Not sure who you could fairly bump out for these guys though - it’s been a pretty good decade!

F/C:
Jake Koch
Seth Tuttle
PG:
Wes Washpun
AJ Green
Kwadzo Ahelegbe
SG:
Jeremy Morgan
Mark Sonnen
Trey Berhow
Isaiah Brown
Paul Jesperson
The interesting thing about this is how many current players I would be tempted to put on this team:
Justin Dahl - as someone posted here recently, he’s a matchup nightmare's matchup nightmare. What’s weird about this is coming into this season, I was hoping he’d get to see the floor. Now I’m thinking of him for an all-decade team.

I'm a little surprised Bohannon isn't on some lists here. All time 3s leader and a hell of a leader in the locker room. Imo, he, Tut, Wes, J-Mo are shoe ins.To avoid confusion - my username is baseball (Cy Young award) related, NOT for the Cyclones.
