  • Game 19 - Southern Illinois (Annual what's a Saluki?)

Game 19 in two days on the road. SIU has only lost one game at home this season and plays hard. However, I'm fairly certain we're going to be able to simply outscore them since we've averaged 80+ the last 3 games (average mid 70's for our season) and the most SIU has put up against anyone was 76 vs a non-DI school. However, their defense could challenge our scoring ability (crazy that we're putting up the most points among valley teams). Nonetheless, should be a great game and another good chance to boost our NET with a W on the road. Go Panthers!

I think we will win as well, but I would not be surprised at all if the margin is closer than what it ended up being against Bradley.

Fast start. You put yourself in danger when you let teams hang around.

We're clearly the better team. Show it.

I see that Cook is gonna try and go for a medical redshirt. If he does get it, SIU would have basically no reason to not be competing to be a top 3 MVC team next year. Playing decent ball with their best scorer out and in the first year with a new coach, they certainly look the part for now.

What are my options for watching tomorrow? I live on campus and have access to ESPN+, but will it be blacked out again?

Not sure if it'll be blacked out or not (probably will), but if so, practically any bar with more than basic cable will be able to play it if they have Comcast Chicago. B-Dubs and Peppers for sure, and I can't say much about the on campus bars but I'm sure they'll work too. Otherwise you could get a VPN and be fine, I'd imagine the average VPN is set in either NY or California, far outside the black out area. Personally, I'm gonna go the sports bar route.

For everyone's sanity, let's not s*** the bed like we did at Illinois State. As others have said, SIU has been pretty good at home and we will likely get everyone's "A-game" from here on out. I'll say UNI by 8.

It'll also be on Fox Sports Midwest and NBC Sports Chicago, if either of those are options for you.

If you have cable in Cedar Falls you should have both channels. I only graduated a couple of years ago and I remember having both on and off-campus. As mentioned above Bdubs, Peppers, and any bar on the hill (Social, OP, Suds, Chads) should have it on too. As for me who lives in Western Iowa now, I will try to find a bar that has it or hope to find a Reddit stream.

I hope this isn't a trap game sandwiched between Bradley and Loyola.
As good as we've looked just one down night for AJ and we're vulnerable. Especially on the road.

Luckily AJ is the kind of guy that, even if he's off, you gotta play your best defense, so if he is having an off night, I'd expect Phyfe/Berhow/Brown/Haldeman/maybe even a bit of Pickford to pick up the slack.

                              An absolute textbook trap game.
